Well, this is a bit of a shocker, but Bungie has just announced a 10-year publishing agreement with Activision for their next IP. This raises a few questions since Activision publishes for multiple consoles. In the agreement, Bungie will retain the ownership of its new IP and will remain an independent company. Also, what does Microsoft have to say about this? For more info, check out Joystiq’s post here. Thanks to PK for posting this in the forums.

PC will come back! Maybe even the Halo MMO!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Wait, I suddenly noticed how much Microsoft makes Bungie better. I don’t think this is a very good idea Bungie!
First Infinity Ward gets the shaft by Activision and now Bungie is holding hands with Activision? I hope these two recent events weren’t all set up. I’m not a fan of Call of Duty (I’m a huge Halo fan though) and this still makes me feel sick to my stomach about how Infinity Ward was laid down and Bungie theoretically is taking their place. I’ll just give the benefit of the doubt that Bungie wasn’t in all of this.
What if this was all an April Fools joke, and Infinity Ward is still Buddy Buddy with Activision? That would be funny. Especially if Infinity Ward tried to sue Activision. =•[} Then Bungie goes and joins Infinity Ward. That would be like one of the best April Fools joke ever. :-[|}
There is no way Activision could publish a Halo game because Microsoft owns the Halo Series. Activision will be publishing whatever series they start to make. Oh BTW the world is about to end. I don’t know if I will buy Bungie’s next game now. :(
Bungie and Activision making the next Dead Space game.
