Podtacular 274: First Look at Halo 4

Yesterday, the first bulk of Halo 4 news came spewing down the pipes of the internet. There were interviews, analyses, and of course the main attraction: the first look video released by 343i. Of course, we have our own opinions about what we saw. Most of what we watched or read yesterday was good news, but there were definitely a few talking points that has us cautiously optimistic. Joining us for our digest is Kete from The Running Riot and CMNeir and MidgetDance from Halo: Reach Tricks. Enjoy

I’m not a huge fan of Armor Lock, but I do switch to it when the other team has most of the power weapons or vehicles. It has saved my life countless times. But it doesn’t need the Bleed Through. When a player uses it, then just wait for them to pop out and then kill them. The Bubble Shield is a bigger problem then the AL. The Bubble Shield can protect a entire team and ruin the game. It to as saved my life lots of times, but unlike other Armor Abilities, it’s not a personal feature. Complaining about the Armor Lock is really pointless. Unless it’s in Infection or FFA. But the Bubble Shield rarely makes a game fair outside of Invasion and BTB.

The problem with giving MP and Campaign two seprate group of weapons/vehicles is that it’s going to push new MP players away. They’ll jump into MP and get owned by the Fuel Rod gun, etc just because they didn’t know about it. Of course they can stick it out and learn to use the weapons. But they will complaign like crazy about it not being in the campaign.

You guys seem to forget that Halo4 take place a full 5 years after Halo3. That means a LOT has happened in that time frame. Based on the novels, I see the Covies being allies as well as enemies similar to Halo2. Halo wouldn’t be Halo without the Covenant. ……

  2. OMG, I love Halo, but I can’t listen to you guys anymore. Please stop your bitchy whining. Feels like that’s all you guys do in every podcast. Seriously- I’m not trying to be a prick or anything… Just saying.

In an Xbox Magazine video Frankie mentioned that the mech was supposed to be a Cyclops under construction like the ones in Halo Wars.
