DC Combat Spring Bash Tournament.

Our friends at Digital Combat, are bringing the gaming public its first annual DC Bash Tournament, Spring 07. With a guarantee of $3000 worth of prizes, this looks like a tournament Podtacular members should take interest in.


Digital Combat is pleased to announce the first annual DC Bash Tournament for Spring 07. This will be an exciting event that will bring prizes galore to the gamers of this community with a guaranteed $3000 in prizes, with the top three teams in each of tournament receiving prizes for the winning squads.

The prize packages will be sponsored by Digital Combat and will include DC custom T-Shirts, EB Games/Best Buy gift cards, XBOX Live 1600 Microsoft point cards and 1-year subscriptions to the OXM (the Official XBOX Magazine), and much more more!

ENTRY FEE: ABSOLUTELY ZERO DOLLARS but …
You do have to be a registered gamer here at DC with a valid gamertag and an email address and be a legally rostered member of a team that participates in one of the Spring Bash tournament events.

Team Creators will designate the recipients of the prizes for their team based on the number of prizes being awarded for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams of each tournament event.

RANDOM GAMER (RAGM) prizes
DC T-Shirts will be awarded to randomly chosen gamers participating in the tournament events throughout the Spring Bash. There will be DCPL and DC History Trivia Contests as well we DC Championship Banner Contests held in the forums; daily and weekly winners will receive RAGM prizes.

ENOUGH ABOUT THE PRIZES … here are the games …

  • 7v7 Digital Combat Default Siege Rules, Alternate Settings – Double Elimination
  • Team must sign up for the proper event in the Competition Arena.
  • The scheduling and reporting of matches for each round will be done in the tournament match challenge forums set up by the DC staff.
  • Matches are NOT to be reported on the OPEN Ladders.
  • ROSTER RULE: Gamers may only participate with one team in this event, and the GRAW 2 DC Default Roster Rules will apply!
  • Teams will be chosen randomly for the first settings and map choice for the first round, which will be posted in the match challenge thread.
  • Map choice and settings will alternate after each team plays the offensive and defensive side of the map.
  • Maps can only be called once. Maps with multiple time of day settings can only be called once. If a map is played on Day, it can not be called on the Night setting and vice versa.
  • Each team will coordinate the match challenge, and report the match results in the tournament forums.
  • The match results must be reported by both teams with the number of offensive base captures reported. This number will be used to determine the first map choice and settings in subsequent rounds. If two teams tied on the number of offensive base takes, the ties will be decided by coin flip with a DC Staff member before the match.
  • Tournament will consist of 64 teams: 50 league teams and 14 open teams.
  • There will be a second chance bracket that each team will be entered into after its first loss. Upon a second loss, your team is eliminated from the competition.

ATTENTION LEAGUE TEAMS and APPLICANTS

LEAGUE ENTRY APPLICANT TEAMS and LEAGUE VETERANS, your team participation in this tournament is required to make it to the next and final step of league acceptance. Please join the ladder competition now. Each veteran league team will be matched against a new team who has applied to be a part of the league. Teams should give feedback in the forums about your opponents regarding the ease of scheduling, showing up as scheduled, ease of match communications, etc. This information will be considered part of the next step to being selected as one of the 48 teams to make the final cut. HINT: Thourugh Feedback, proper use of the forums and timely scheduling is a good thing.

There were 56 teams registered. A few have dropped, a few never even set up teams and some teams are absent or have otherwise eliminated themselves. A few teams have asked to be added, and some teams still do not have full, 10-man rosters, so there will be some open slots for other DC teams to participate in the league.

If you want to be in the league, this is the only way it will happen.

48 League teams will be selected after round 4 of the second chance bracket is completed in the GRAW 2 events and the matches are reported. League Schedules will be posted and DCPL LEAGUE match play will begin at completion of the tournament.

  • 4v4 PRO Style Tournament -Double Elimination.
  • Team must sign up for the proper event in the Competition Arena.
  • The scheduling and reporting of matches for each round will be done in the tournament match challenge forums set up by the DC staff.
  • The match results must be reported by both teams
  • TEAM ROSTERS: This event will allow gamers to set up teams outside of their DC “Home” team and not lose roster eligibility for either teams. If your team falls in this category, it must be disclosed in the Sign Up forums in the teams initial post. Any member of a team who is also a member of another DC team must disclose his or her “DC Home” team in the forums. Gamers will only be eligible if your “DC Home” team does not register to play in this event.
  • Gamers may only participate with one team in this event, no exceptions!!
  • Matches will be played as follows:
    • 4v4 with 3 game types on 7 different maps.
    • Teams get 1 point for winning the map.
    • The first team to win 3 points wins the match and moves on.
    • DC will select 5 random game types and maps prior to each tournament round and post at the beginning of the round.
  • Tournament will consist of 32 teams with 16 pre-qualified pro-teams and 16 open spots to teams that sign up in the forums.
  • There will be a second chance bracket that each team will be entered into after its first loss. After a second loss, your team is eliminated from the competition.

Spring Bash Competitions Arena.

SPECIAL PRIZE FOR QUALIFIED PRO TEAMS

For this tournament, in order to attract some top level teams to DC to play on our forthcoming Pro Settings Ladders, we are offering a Team Pass or Entry Fee Sponsorship to the highest finishing qualified PRO team (a max value of $200). Additional requirements must be met. Please not that this is not a full ride sponsorship and covers entry fees only. Prize winners are required to furnish all transportation, hotels and other expenses associated with qualifying for a PRO event. This prize winner will be determined upon confirmation of team eligibility for entry into a PRO event. More information to be posted as soon as the event is approved.

  • The number of round wins (not maps) throughout the entire match will determine the first map choice and host in subsequent rounds.
  • Hosts will alternate each map throughout the matches.
  • Tournament will consist of 32 teams and will be open to all eligible teams that wish to participate.
  • There will be a second chance bracket that each team will be entered into after your first loss. Upon a second loss, your team is eliminated from the competition.
