Episode 79: Halo 3 show with special guest host: Laird from Sponsors vs. Freeloaders

It’s the Halo 3 show where we talk about what YOU want to see in Halo 3, your ideas about the storyline, what you expect to see in the game, and what we know so far about it. We also talk about other games Halo freaks play, which has some pretty cool stuff there too. And as a bonus, we have an interview toward the beginning with Laird from Sponsors vs. Freeloaders, the hit machinima series. He also talks about other stuff he’s been up to lately which we think you’ll find interesting. Thanks to JVBizzle for being on the show despite the chaos of moving from New York to Florida these days, thanks to Kimo23 for this week’s pod art, and thanks to Ciclonic for editing audio. Dig it!

Download MP3

It’s finally here! The first Bungie podcast. Apparently this isn’t exactly the first entire episode, but rather some practice interviews. But whatever, we love it. They talk about playlists, cheating, Halo 3, weapon and map design, tons of stuff. It’s just what we’ve been waiting for and we already can’t wait for more. Keep ’em coming, Bungie! What did you guys think of the first show?

The All-Stars continue their undefeated streak of friendly challenge matches with their latest victory against the Winged Warriors. Looks like it was pretty much a shutout according to MaesterGXL‘s excellent review. Thanks guys for a great match! By the way they have a pretty nice site, you might want to check it out. “They wrote an in-depth review” over there too, so you can check out the match from their perspective.

Please check the season standings for the Season update. -Dialpex

In the final battle of the first Podtacular Season Tournament, Team Us has won the trophy! GLewis has a great writeup in the forums about how the match went down. Big congratulations to the winning team:

First Place: Team Us

  • Queso Man
  • DrThom
  • Glewis
  • Painkilla05

Second Place: Team Noob

  • Rusomi7677
  • Chevelle65
  • Sunny Lake
  • JordanJr

Third Place: Tri Pod Pros & xX1Shot1KillXx

TPP-

  • Ciclonic
  • Dialpex
  • Samanator
  • DaveySkills UK

1S1K-

  • SsJmoose
  • Warior96

Third Place is now shared between Tri Pod Pros and xX1Shot1KillXx. The match was not played and the schedules of both teams went completely crazy in the last 2 weeks preventing the teams to come to an agreement on a date. Both teams played a great season and don’t deserve this more than the other. It’s only fair that we call this a tie for the third place. Thanks Tri Pod Pros and xX1Shot1KillXx.

They’ll get their prizes shortly. There will be an off-season while we set up the next tournament season. We learned a lot from this season so the next time around will be new and improved. Feel free to gather your team together for when the season starts up again, lots of people have been doing that already in the forums. Also, let’s all thank Dialpex for putting a lot of time and effort into running the first ever tournament season successfully!
