Matchmaking Update

In case you didn’t know, there have been some interesting changes to matchmaking recently. Team SWAT is now suddenly ranked (huzzah!) and the Team Carnage playlist has been switched out with a list from the Real Custom Games Bungie group. New game types include a game with tons of vehicles, a diplomacy oddball game, and a couple with sentinel beams. Details on Bungie.net. Another post by Ninja 0n Fire has every excruciating detail on what was changed. Sweet!

Episode 84: Tips show with special guests from Halowiki.net

It’s the Tips show, halowiki.net ruthless edition. As usual we gots the man, JVB as co-host, and this time we have Sigafoos and Brathnok from halowiki.net‘s WikiRiot podcast. We talk about tips people sent in for campaign, multiplayer, and specifically Map of the month: Zanzibar. Actually we go nuts for some reason and rip on like every single person that sent in a tip, which is why this is called the ruthless edition. So don’t feel bad, it wasn’t just you. We plead temporary insanity. We also have an interview later on with Pez and LegendaryMark from halowiki and Clan of Bobs. Pod art this week comes from StigmaticX. I think he spilled a little paint there. Thanks to Ciclonic for lending us his audio editing magic. On with the show!

Blast from the past

What if Halo was an RTS(Real-time strategy)? Or a third-person shooter? Or it had 32 weapons, different vehicles, and you could ride a lizard? Well it used to be all of these things. Check out this look back at early builds of Halo with narration by some Bungie guys. They go through and name the vehicles and weapons too, like the “gravity wrench” (pictured), the speargun, the alien rocket launcher, the “stealth tank,” the “horseshoe crab” and more.

Recently I got the opportunity to sit on a sumo all weekend and tell you all about it. Somehow that doesn’t sound right. Anyway I got to try out this sweet gaming chair from “Sumo Lounge”:http://sumolounge.com and here’s my review on how this not so little number holds up to the rigors of hardcore gaming sessions. What happens when you spill red bull on it? Does it double as a loveseat? And the big question: does it come with the girl in the picture?? Read on to find out…
