For those of you who didn’t rush out to go get Halo 3: ODST, and get your hands on the new multiplayer maps, today is your lucky day. Bungie has decided to release the final three maps: Heretic, Citadel and Longshore on the XBL Marketplace for the usual 800M$. So go download them and join the fun.
I have been debating this for a while, and I’ve told some people about it last year, but it’s time to make the announcement. Podtacular will have its own Top 10 video series presented by Pod TV. There are plenty of other Top 10 series out there as I’m sure you all are aware of, but I wanted to give Podtacular the chance to have its own, solely for Podtacular. Now, you won’t have to be a Podtacular member to submit; everyone gets a fair chance.
The primary format of the Podtacular Top 10 will be generic with a few themed specials thrown in. Right now, the plan is to have a show every month. I will be the sole judge of the clips until I need or choose to have help. Clips can range from campaign to hilarious mishaps to crazy/skilled kills. Anything goes in terms of game play and multiple clips can be submitted, even ODST.
On Friday, Bungie put a new shirt in the Store which features the Superintendent on the front saying “<<BE A HERO>>”. The back says “Bungie Fans for quake relief – 2010 Haiti”. To be a hero, just buy this shirt and all Bungie’s profits will be donated to the Red Cross. Also, from now until the end of February all of Bungie’s profits from other Bungie Store purchases will also be donated to the Red Cross.
Have you been eyeing that Marathon hoodie like I have been? Get it now and help out in Haiti! When you get yours take a pic of yourself wearing it and post it in this thread that long-time member Queso Man created in the forums!
Oh yeah, get online and play Halo 3 on Wednesday and change your emblem to match Bungie’s specs for the Red Heart Emblem. Bungie will donate up to $77,000 more on behalf of the players that day.
In the coming weeks the hosts here at Podtacular will be hosting one of those shows every community does, the best games of the previous year show, but we will be doing it later than others. Why you ask? Two reasons; the first reason being we want to take a little break. The second reason is so we can think about all the gems that came out throughout the year. The episode will not only sport our favorite picks of 2009 but will also include yours. Podtacular is going keep it Podtacular even in the new decade; you submit, we read, and we make fun of your submissions. So I hope all of you are encouraged to submit to the up-coming show which will be filled with guests from all around the gaming community; not just us awesome folks here at Podtacular.com. Awesome folks from other websites will (hopefully) be joining us.
