Podtacular 351: Fiesta!

We have learned the history behind the Forerunners in Cryptum and Primordium, and we have been exposed to their technology and plans through the eyes of Master Chief. Now, in just under two short weeks, we will have the final book in the Forerunner Saga in our laps to learn about the final moments of the Forerunners as a civilization. This week’s bulletin has an interview with Greg Bear, writer behind the trilogy. We also have our playlist update announcing Team Action Sack, with a sneak peek at some of the gametypes slated for the playlist in the future. Question of the week: If you’ve read the Forerunner books, what’s your favorite part and are you excited for Silentium? Enjoy

Podtacular 350: Dat Tarp

Half way to 700 episode and we’re still rockin’ the mic with Halo news, and this week is not lack-luster. We had the Majestic Map pack drop this week giving us the chance to review the maps for ourselves and we really like what we see. By far it seems like the favorite is Skyline. Extraction is getting it’s own playlist next week as well as Spartan Ops recycling the second half of the season next week. The question of the podcast is a little more free form and open to hilarious responses: What has dat tarp done for you? Enjoy

Doing It Live

We’ve been toying around with the idea of doing a live show when we record our podcasts and for those who follow us on social media, you’ve already gotten a taste recently of what it’s like. We’ve done a few live shows in the past as well, but we’re changing that structure to be more permanent. From here on out, all of our shows will be recorded live, with a few exceptions where the shows will have to be pre-screened, recorded at conventions, etc. Every Thursday at 8:00PM Eastern, come join us on Twitch.tv when we record our regular update shows and follow us to catch all those in-between. We will also be dual-broadcasting on Ustream.tv and see where the bulk of our audience ends up, but our main video feed will be on Twitch. We’ve also been live streaming our Monday Night Matchmaking games on Twitch, so if you haven’t caught those, definitely tune in on Mondays if you can’t make it. We will be live streaming our Wacky Wednesdays that we announced on our last show.

Podtacular 349: The Wacky Halo World

At it’s heart, Halo has always been a game about custom settings from day one. Being able to customize your experience was the cornerstone to how we play Halo today in the multiplayer space. Since the advent of Forge in Halo 3, customs have skyrocketed to some of the most fun, competitive, crazy and just plain odd combinations of map variants and game types. On the podcast today is founder Insane54 and staff member Vincent Torre from Halo Customs to talk about their efforts to highlight the creative customs community and talk about the current standing of custom games in Halo 4. With the announcement of the just released web-based file share, they have their work cut out for them. Enjoy
