Bungie announced on Friday last week the release of Destiny on September 9th this year. Bungie’s newest franchise was announced less than a year ago and we can expect to get our hands on the beta summer of 2014 first available on the PlayStation platform. If you haven’t pre-ordered Destiny yet or haven’t won a beta code, then you may want to get your orders in to get access.

Every hundred episodes, it has been tradition to take a look back on where the podcast has been over the past hundred episodes and things we are looking forward to with the Halo franchise and the podcast. This time, we’re took a slightly different approach looking at the communities we have been able to interact with and come to know over the last few years. I truly believe there is not any other gaming community out there quite like the Halo community, with all of its various different entities and areas of interest that complement the Halo universe so well. To show our appreciation for all of the Halo communities that have impacted Halo, we are hosting a giveaway for those who would like to show their appreciation for the community that has impacted them the most. Thanks to 343 Industries, Certain Affinity, and one of our very own, Laird, we’ve been offered some pretty cool prizes to give away for your efforts. If you want to say thank you to your favorite community and get some Halo swag in return, then check out the giveaway page for all the details.
Words cannot express how thankful we are for the Halo franchise let alone the wonderful Halo community that has developed around such a gaming phenomena. Through the gift of this podcast I’ve been able to connect and interact with so many different kinds of Halo fans including industry workers, community leaders and casual fans who all hold Halo dear in some part of their gaming lives. It’s a joy and honor to sit down in front of the mic every week and speak my mind along with Brent and the numerous other co-hosts I’ve had over the years. But instead of reminiscing on Podtacular’s past on yet another 100 episodes, we take a look at some of the communities we’ve had the blessing to interacting, coordinating, and sharing experiences with. 343 Industries, Certain Affinity, Halo.Bungie.Org, GrifballHub, Rooster Teeth, Forward Unto Dawn are just some of the big ones to name a few. Thank you all for your dedication to Halo and thank you, our loyal listeners, for sticking it out through thick and thin, through the good and the bad. To our fellow communities, be forever passionate about what you do and know it’s a privilege to know you all. Oh, there’s also some bulletin bits in there too. Enjoy
This week’s Halo Bulletin has more War Games related information than you can fit into your Christmas stocking. I say that as Christmas inventory is already filling up in stores before Thanksgiving… These are strange times my friends, and even stranger (in my personal opinion) is the results of the Ricochet Forge contest, no offense to the winners of course. Multi-team has dropped in the rotational playlist for the next two weeks until Dominion takes the spotlight with another community voted Dominion gametype. The Xbox platform Halo: Spartan Assault achievements were also announced this week with some Co-op and Xbox One exclusive achievements. Enjoy
This week marks the birthday of Halo 4. One year ago we were on the edge of our seats in anticipation waiting for this game to release at retail only to go home and play the Campaign and War Games. Now a year later we look at the transformation that has happened to the game and the franchise, some good and some not so good. In celebration, they released a video with some of the crazy stuff they did with the game that didn’t make it to the final version. If you check on this week’s Halo Bulletin, you get a glimpse at some of the festivities they had at the studio. Mini Chief was at the party assisting Spartan Bravo in cutting the Halo 4 birthday cakes. In the midst of celebration, details of the next rotational playlist, Multi-Team is out with the playlist dropping this Monday with the community choice of Multi-Regicide. Enjoy
