This is the Tips Show, (explanation)

General Tips

a tip of mine is switch your settings of your controller to green thumb, because this enables you to hit fast this ur in a firefight, ur not gonna need your scope that fast, so thats my tip.

Hey guys. I just had a question for you all. I use the green thumb button configuration. Zooming and melee are reversed. It enables the user to be able to hit moving and jumping people because they don’t have to take their thumb off of the right control stick. It allows the person to adjust to the enemies position more easily without switching from B to the control stick and back. This strategy seems so much simpler. I know it makes it hard to do combos like B-X-B, B-Y-B, and the rocket-sword cancel, but I think the benefits definitly outweigh the drawbacks. Please give me your opinion of this button configuration and tell me if anyone uses it.
uh, what was your question??

STEPS TO TRICK A DOWN LEVELER TO STOP DOWN LEVELING -First you throw down the F bomb a couple of times. -Then you just repeatedly call him gay. -Tell him he fricken sucks at Halo. -He will respond by saying “Lets go head to head” You respond by saying “Your not even worth my time” -He will say “Fine, Im gonna show you how good I am” -He will try to come out of the negatives out of anger. -Your team
might win! (It works trust me! This actually happened to me.)

I was listening to your 50th episode the other night and I noticed you said Rocket Canceling was taken out of Halo 2. Not true it is still possible only much much more difficult. To pull off the ever so famous “Rocket Cancel” you must put one of your thumbs over X,Y, and B buttons (the left one works best) and rapidly tap them at the same time while pulling the Right Trigger rapily, this can be done with out tapping the buttons but has to be timed prefectly and requires lots and lots of practice. If you can master the one tap timing it can be done with sniper rifles.

Just a little thing about mods guys. Some mods are really cool, but nonetheless unfair. Sure, flying around in a warthog can be cool, but, only if you are theone in it. To all of you modders listening, go to www.xbconnect.com and download the program and follow the instructions for stetup. Once there they have a section for halo 2, and also a section for halo 2 mods in which to host games. Take your mods to the special section, not on xbl.

i have found out that when you are in a tank both human and cov. you take less damage when you get hit in the back by a rocket then you do when hit in the front or the sides. So i have found it very usefull to have you back to any attacker that you face so you dont die as fast.

We all know that most the time it takes two rockets to kill a tank but this is only half true. after testing this out in custom games i fuond that it takes 3 rocks to the back. and becuz of this the rocket guy will have to reloud befor firing off the last shot. and when he is relouding that will give you the time you need to take him out of the game.

1. Well, the best general tip would be to stay behind walls when there is a big fire fight, listen to the
sound of the shots, when they stop, come out from hiding and shoot em’ up, this works well in places
with multiplayer rooms or “walls” . Thanks the best general tip I can think of…

It also helps to have two walls, and hide behind one, when the gunshots stop, shoot at the other
persone/team while running to the other wall, you have a good chance of not getting hit because of
the fact that you are moving.

2. If you have a sword, DO NOT take it out in the open, it basicly means “I have the sword, come kill
me now and get my weapon!”.
Only use it when you are close enaugh to lunge, and it is good to use it when alot of people are in a
swarm, they will fight each other while you go in and take them out one by one.

3. If you have a brute plasma rifle, try to only use it very close to close range, it shoots faster and it
does more damage close up than a normal plasma rifle.
if you have a normal one, try and shoot it after a good wacking with another weapon, like the
plasma pistol, it should take out the rest of their health with two shots.

  1. Snipers tips

Never go out into the middle. ‘nuff said. Before standing out somewhere in the open, scope the place out before camping there.

If someone is running around, follow them with your scope for a few seconds. Get a feel for his movement, and shoot when you know you will get a head shot.

It’s unavoidable in a snipers match, camp. It’s darn affective, and gets you more kills then running around like an idiot. But don’t camp too long in the same place or go back to the same place after dying, you might as well beg the other team to kill you.

  1. Assult tips:

I dunno, it might not work for you, but to whip my team into a frenzy, I like to scream “We Must Protect This House” multiple times while i am on defense.

Just because you are on defense, doesn’t mean you have to take what the other team dishes out. Take the sniper or rockets to keep the other team at bay.

Camp the bomb defense spot, just out of sight of the other team. If you are lucky, you might only get a bomb armed, but no bomb planted.

Crouch and look down while arming the bomb.

  1. CTF Tips:

Don’t try to get the flag alone. A group of people will be more likely to grab the flag then one guy by himself.

Don’t kill the other guys. It’s much harder to gab a flag when 3 guys just respawned back at their base because your dumb teammate doesn’t have a brain.

Always have a ride waiting for your guy. Don’t leave your flag stealing guy to hoof it, hoping he’ll get back himself.

I try to leave half my team on defense, camping the flag. The other half of the team is busy grabbing all the wqeapons and trying to get the flag.

Have all the exits sealed. For example, don’t leave the top of the base wide open for your opponent to throw a flag up too on Beaver Creek.

  1. Slayer Tips:

Stay togeather. The team that stays together, slays together.

Camping isn’t all that bad, once you realise how handy it can be.

  1. Oddball tips:

Stay togeather as a group. It’s much harder for an enemy to take the ball from a group of 6 people then it is to take it from 3 people. Have one or two people leave the group to scout a new area for enemies.

Take one for the team. The bullets you take for the ball guy may ammount to those few game winning seconds later.

  1. King tips:

When taking the hill, take it as a mob. 6 people are more likely to take the hill then 2 people are.

  1. General tips:

Practice with Halo 1. I know it sounds kooky, but playing Halo:CE helped me bewcome a better sniper.

Also, play the campagine on Heroic and Legendary. It helps improve you reflexes and aim, so you can dish it out better online.

Forget about the rank, live a little. Instead of worrying if this bad game will bring your rank down, worry if you had fun or not. I’d rather spend 10 games having fun and not caring about rank instead of worryig about how this game will affect my rank.

Don’t super jump. It’s lame. It tells other people that you are so much a noob that you have to resort to being cheaper then the noob combo and camping. Remember: Friends don’t let friends super jump.

Just because you are losing doesn’t give you the right to leave. It screws your (ex)teammates, and it lowers your ran k more then just staying put would’ve.

Also, just because one guy leaves, doesn’t mean everyone leaves. There is always that chance your team can come back.

Insted of swishing from a plasma pistol to a BR i sugjest that you wield a magnum and plasma pistol at the sametime. This combo is only better in small maps such as lockout and warlock. I only use this because im good with close up head shots and it kills faster. I still recomend that you carry a BR at all times.

Here’s a tip for when playing neutral flag in halo 2, when your team has the flag have your flag carrier hide until your team has taken over the area where the flag spawns. When your sure the flag area is clear have your flag carrier capture then repeat the process.

when you’re off-host LXX allows you to toss a grenade and automatically
reload your weapon without any animation. Press the left trigger, and
while your spartan’s arm is on screen tossing your grenade press XX
quickly. This trick will not work when you are host. This helps a lot
in MLG FFA’s.

Noob Tips

hold x befor you go on a gun so rite wen you land on it you will grab it. most hoobs wont know this.
the older plays should know this
hehe nice spelling

if some one is charging at you with
the sword, if you have a shotgun, pull it out and right before the
swordsman slashes you, and shoot them in the head with your shotgun.

Here’s another one. When you’re trying to kill some one using a
warthog, and they’re moving, don’t go head on into them. Go a little
past them, and turn towards them and press L to slide. This way it’s
harder for them to jump away from the vehicle, and it’s still powerful
enough to splatter them.

Side stepping and moving while shooting, or even when meleeing with your
weapons is huge to winning the low shield battles and staying alive
more in a game.(emphasis on BR)

for noobs: run in circles and do not stop if being shot

if your getting killed alot, you should get a different weapon cuz that
might help you not die alot.

Map of the Month: Midship

Team Slayer or FFA Slayer

Get the battle rifle.
It is found under both bases next to the grav. lift. It can come in so much handy long or close range. Basically you want to go for the BR and sword and then you will win. It is always helpful to kill people with the BR and not the sword if you have both. If the guy knows you have the sword he will back away from you and try to stick you, all you have to do is let him back away take out your BR and waiste him.Another thing is that the explosive contaners can come in handy, if you see a guy with a sword coming at you try to chuck a grenade near the explosive. If you time it right he will dash at you pay no attention to the explosive and slash at you and after if kills you it will blow up and if you are really lucky you will survive the blast and he won’t :) .

the large disk over the center that the sword is just above, can be
used as a giant trampoline if you time your jumps on it right. just
jump up and down until you get a great jump.

Get the BRs!!! in this map, if your team controls both BRs, you can
control the other team completely, because most people arent smart
enough to use the carbine against you.

For CTF when you steal the flag, but you know you will die soon,
instead of throwing into the middle, throw it to the side with the
carbine on it, because it is easier to recover and score this way.
When you go up one of the mini lift things in the bases, and you know
someone is following you, throw a plasma at the ground where you are
about to land, that way when you land and run forward, the other guy
will fly straight into your grenade.

NOOB IT UP. This map is the best map for the noob combo!! just get it
and camp at the top of the ramps right above the Plasma Pistol. People
are often fighting on sides and you can just clean them up and get easy
kills. This method has won me many games

4 shot + 1 wack = hot cup of ownage. If you are playing TS on Midship,
a good thing to remember is that 4 shots from the plasma rifle and one
running melee will kill. If you are going up against the sword, pair
up plasma rifles and keep taunting the sword as he rushes after you.
Although the dual plasma rifles aren’t as good as dual SMGs, the plasma
rifles will get take down the sword.

It will probably be said 100 times this episode, but get the sword.
The shotgun in my opinion is actually less useful in team slayer than
say, maybe a good combo. Always travel in a pack, but be sure not to
be killed by 1 or 2 grenades. If you start with a battle rifle, be
sure to concentrate your fire on one or two people at a time. If you do
this, you are unstoppable. If you have the sword, don’t get cocky.
You can’t take on a whole team by yourself. Get 1 or 2 people to
guard you.

Fist of all, never stop moving. This will help you. Also, when you’re in
the flag area and you want to not get shot in a firefight, drop down
below the platform and come right back up. They will follow you, and
when you are back up, plant the flag, or grab the bomb, or oddball, or
more kills…

PLASMA GRENADES ARE YOUR BEST FRIENDS!!! Throw them all the time. They
are mostly silent, so you can freak people out, and rack up the kills.
Another common mistake is to travel alone on such a small map. DON’T.
I’m not even going to explain that. Also, never go for the sword. You
are a sitting duck unless you are really good, or Painkilla (mod) all
the time. The only good time to go up there is if you’re kamikazeing to
the flag/bomb spot. Then it’s a great idea. Actually, never go to the
middle in the first place. It can be hell in the top and bottom area.

have one teammeamber retrieve the sword. it is vital to get the sword or it will be hard to win, if you have it, the game should go fast. also, have one guy get the carbine and the others meet in one of the rooms on either side of the bridge. have your whole team camp out in the same room. This way your team spawns in there. Have the sword guy crouch in the corner of the room to sneak up on the enemy when they enter the room. have the guy with the carbine snipe the other team. some people guard the ramps into the room on both side and some guard the grav lift. the number of people guarding depends on the number of players on your team. be cautious though: keep behind some cover since it is easy to be sniped from accross the way. look out for incoming grenades from below, sides and accross the map(the other team can easily get a kiltacular with one greanade if your not careful). i’ve won games 50 to 10 using this strategy and in 5 minutes or less. if nothing else get the sword and poon the crap out of the other teams!!!

Their are many strategies i use for midship and the most important one is to learn how to stick. This is the most important thing to this map. Also you should try to get sword or the shotgun. Since this map is so small even throwing random grenades can kill multiple opponents.

Legend rKo says:

- one guy has to go bottom floor to get BR one go gets sword as it is esential of wining the game.

- another guy gets noob combo and heads to the top floor to cover guy getting sword. Lastly the Carbine(just as good as Br ) only takes 7 shots of carbine in the head for a kill. in less than 5 secs.

so noob combo, sword, carbine, and BR are the most powerfull weapons. If you do not your team does not have an of those weapons, atleast you have good ol’ faithful plasma rifle fire like 5 shots and melee them or if you are a PR0 stick thier a$$.

GO FOR THE BATTLE RIFLES / CARBINES! They are the weapons to use for medium ranges here. If you can manage, Dual Wield the Needelers. They are some of the BEST weapons on the map.

This tip is just a special spot on Midship that is kind of effective pretty much in all-game types (Slayer, FFA, assault, CTF, KoTH and Oddball). If you go to the top center of the level on the bridge you will see the sword up there sitting in this little platform. Go up to that platform and jump on top of if as if you were going to grab the sword. After that make sure that your BACK is turned to the side where down below the plasma pistol is located. If you did this rite up until now you will be on top of that little sword platform and will see 2 rails, or supports whatever you wanna call them, that holds that sword platform. Back up just a little bit(still on that little sword platform) and run towards that upward rail or support, then when you hit the top of your jump duck and jump forward again. By doing that you should be able to get to the top of that rail and duck at the very top of it and have a WIDE view of 75% of the map. If you’re good with the BR or like the Noob Combo you can get lots and lots of kills from up there. It’s a very effective place but you MUST be very accurate with your shots if you wanna last up there for a while. Its most effective in Ball games and Flag games when people are so worried about crossing that map that you take them out one after another.

My tips for Midship is to always try to go for the shotgun first,
screw the sword, you’ll get to the shotgun first anyway and then have
an even match up against the sword if some one gets it. Then get a
carabine or battle-rifle and you’ll be set the entire game if you’re
skilled with them. I believe the carabine is to be one of the most
helpful weapons on that map. And if you can’t grab either, always just
dual-wield with another plasma rifle. You can’t go wrong!

CTF and Assault

CTF classic – A really good strategy that has proved to be very effective for me is
this one: have one person get the other teams flag. Have another person
on top of the “teeter-totter,” and have the person with the flag
jump and throw it up to him. That person then throws it to the person
at your base. You should have 2 people at your base, 1 guarding, and
the other will catch the flag thrown by the person on the
teeter-totter. If done correctly and efficiently, you can rack up some
flag captures no problem.

an awkward way of going about
getting the flag on CTF
The point is to bull-rush the flag at the start of the game. Get the
shotty if possible, but mainly stay together and get in at the same
time. The plus is that if anyone dies then theyll be spawned back at
their side of the map, ready to defend it from attackers. With all four
people rushing the flag it is often easier than on ethinks to capture
it.

My strategy for CTF and Assault is quite simple. Charge! Most of the
time your enemy doesn’t seem prepared due to gathering weapons, and
such. Blitzkrieg is extremely effective because they quite simply,
won’t be in the base during the first couple of seconds or even expect
it. If you’re in matchmaking, cowards will usually quit after the first
round if you do this, so you can get on to the next match.

be fast when you have the flag. It such
a small map that is almost impossible to hide form your enemies. Many
people just try to go straight through the middle which is fast but not
always the best way. I suggest to have one person wait on top of the
sword spawn flipdy thingy and have a teammate toss it to them. Then
have the person on the flipdy things toss it into your base or jump
into from the side(the ledge in front of the base). Just be careful
when tossing the flag around not to have it returned by the other team
if touch return is on. Keep it up podtacular. Pro E represent.

When grabing the bomb dont go through the sides! You may ask why but the reson being is because every one is expecting you to go through the side halls. So convertly go through the middel and see if you can get a jump on them.

CTF - have 1 or 2 people go and soften up theri base, then one or
two people go and take the flag back, while one or two people stay back
to guard. when on offence or when going to get the flag, have the two
people split up on either side of the map, to come and meet up at their
base from either direction, this is to confuse them and stuff. that
goes for asasult too.

KoTH and Territories

Team Crazy King – The most common mistake a team can make while playing this is having
multiple people in the hill at once. The time does not increase at a
higher rate if you have more people in it. Those people should be
protecting the player occupying the hill. One of the hardest places to
keep the hill is on up the blue ramps, opposite of the pink room. You
WILL get shot from every direction, so only have one person in the hill
at a time. When the other team rushes to the hill, then you get’em,
and get back in the hill.

wait for them to get the hill, then all charge in from
differend ways, then once captured have each member guard an
entrance/exit, on the outside of the hill, do not go in the open, stay
against walls

Oddball and Juggernaut

Team Ball – Since this map is sooo small, and there are multiple entrances to each
area, it is key that you keep your bomb carrier heavily guarded at all
times. The best place for guarding bomb carriers on any map is
someplace with very few entrances. In the case of Midship, that place
is the room under each base. Keep you bomb guy in the back of the
room, so grenades don’t kill him. If you have the sword, you
actually might want to stay at the top of the base, to kill any people
trying to come up behind you. Get maybe the shotgun and some guy with
the plasma rifle/SMG combo guarding the bomb and you will win.

oddball – go to where the sword spawns, then run to one of the ends
of the rampway, and hide in that semi covered tri-intersectioned
“room”, and have someone cover you w/ shotty/sword

For team ball get the ball and sit in one of the bases, as people come at you, drop down behind the base, if they follow you, jump on the lift. Repeat this as long as you can.

Random Tip of the Week

in super mario 64…. to use your hat as a weapon…

In the sandy world go to any star past number 1 and get your hat stolen by the big bird that was
carring the star (you can usualy find him near the pink bomb-bomb’s pillar) then go punch or kick or
just jump on the bird WITHOUT getting the hat next go to the palm tree near the pink bomb-bomb
and warp the more times you warp the more hats there are. Eventually after about 50 hats are on
the screen the game will freeze. if you grab your hat when there are 2 or three there you get to
wield your hat as a weapon!!!!!!
