Podtacular Tips Show: Foundation (Episode 34)

N00b tips

hi pod tacular long time listener first time emailer my slayer tip is when you play slayer and you want to win the object is to get as much kills as you can with little deaths or at least more kills then deaths otherwise you just mess up the team your on.

General Tips

Human weapons are really handy for taking an opponent down after their shield is dead. Try to keep one human and one covie weapon on you.

The good thing about human weapons is that they don’t overheat, the bad news is that htey do run out of ammo. Try not to get stuck in a firefight while having tio reload.

Did I mention that human weapons don’t overheat? This can come in real handy for the sloppy sniper or the bad BR handeler.

Try to master the sniper. I can’t tell you how many of my friends have equal skill as me with other weapons, but always beat me because they have mastered the sniper. Play some custom games or team snipers, whatever. Just practice your sniping skills.

While it may not always be fun, it is a lifesaver. When playing a 2 bomb/flag game, get some people on defense. I am usually the only person that stays back on defense, and let me tell ya, it has saved our butts quite a few times.

When being sniper at, run around all random like. The more unpredictible you are, the harder you are to hit.

Find a look sensitivity that suits you. If you are a lone-wolf sniper, turn it down. If you are a gung-ho shotgun guy, turn it up.

When playing no shields or snipers and other slayer games, I find that the majority of the time people
tend to run around the map in one direction. It is useful for me to run in the opposite direction as
everyone else, this lets me rack up the frags…and subsequently win the game.

Map of the Week: Foundation

I like this map! There are a few tactics that work really well here:

the funny thing is, most people dont go in the middle structure. Therefore, it is often one of the best places to hide. Just make sure no one sees you going into the middle structure and you can normally hide quite well. Also, if you have the sword, don’t go running around with it out.

get a br and some rockets…make sure your teamates will cover you…super bounce to the center…and
pwn them!

Avoid camping in the small rooms. A rocket or some grenades will easily end your life. Vice versa, use grenades or rockets to flush out enemies. DO NOT run in after them, they will be waiting with the sword or shotgun, or they will just assasinate you from behind. The turrets can actually be fairly useful on this map, get some teammates to cover you, and you can rack up some kills. Rockets and BR rule the map, use them.

hey this is inverselogic with a tip for foundation. When in a bomb game grab those spare grenades in your starting room! they will come in handy when the enemy decides to go straight for you instead of the bomb. If they go for the bomb then nade the crap out of the little house in the middle. The fusion cores in the center will make quick work of anyone in there. This is also a good strat against swordsmen.

When the match starts go to the BR and most likely you will see the other team going for the other BR. When he is there shoot the barrels behind him and that should damage him enough for you to kill him in 2-4 shots.

This is a pretty well known thing but if you see a guy running into the middle just throw one frag. This should blow up the core thingies and annihilate him.LIke I said pretty well known but for those who don’t know…there you have it.

The middle structure is a good place to hide with the BR, the openings made it ideal to shoot out of and make it difficult for the enemy to shoot back. Also theirs that ledge in room 2 that you can hide up in and BR people and freak them out.

In the 2nd room on Foundation (You know, the one with the big 2 on it.) there is an excellent hiding spot. When you’re in the room, jump onto the only upright missile(?) in the room. From there, crouchjump onto the ledge above you. As if this ledge wasn’t good enough, you can crouch-jump from there onto the missile rack itself, and be almost completely invisible from all directions, especially if you have darker armor. (So Foo Mo probably wouldn’t be well-hidden…)

Also, the Turrets are both the best and worst options on this map. On the upper hand, you can do a lot of damage in a team game, but on the lower hand, the map is small so EVERYONE will know where you are when you start using a turret, and since the rockets are so easy to get, the other team will be able to dispatch you quickly. So if you must use the turrets, only use them for 2 or 3 kills, after that, everyone will probably have figured it out, and you can’t stop them all.

Until next time, this has been a tip from QualityJeverage

There are only two things you need to win on this level, BR, and Rockets, the sword can also be useful if you camp the numbered rooms waitng for people to come by, and don’t forget the rocket ammo.

The sword being in the middle is great bait, camp the center structure with a shotgun, and wait for poeple to go for it.

What I really hate about this level is that thier is no sniper, snipers games can actually be really fun on this level.

Also, remeber, the BR is considered a POWER WEAPON, so only 2 of them can be in play at once, and they only have a 15 second respawn, so be sure to scramble for the place you found it it when you run out of ammo.

My tip is, TEAMWORK TEAMWORK TEAMWORK. You will NOT will if you randomly go around shooting people. Do it right, if you cant do that, work in teams of two, just dont go alone

There is more to the game than kills, dont bash your teammate if he has less kills than you, because he probably saved your butt from the rocket guy with an assist. So theres a thing to remember.

Double Kill, Triple Kill, Podtacular!

You can’t get to the top, so don’t even try. The only way to do this is to superjump, but we wouldn’t do that, would we?

Get the rockets below the two open platforms with the turrets, they really do wonders.

Speaking of turrets, hardly anyone ever uses them!! As long as you have someone backing you up, you can get some big killing spree. Just watch out for the rocket.

Unless going for the sword, try to keep out of the middle. You are easy pickings, trust me.

Scoped weapons are pretty handy on this map, so always be on the lookout for one of those.

Not really a tip, but this map works really good for Zombie and Swat games.

The shotguns at the bottoms of the stair cases are only good for use in the four rooms.

If you are following someone and they run into one of the rooms, don’t just rush in after them. Smoke them out with a few ‘nades.

Watch those blast cores.

I love this map…ok, so again, i was playing my cousin who usually pwns me. but i was on this map and found a bit of luck with the Rocket launcher. with that i was untouchable, despite he was at least twice as good as me. he teased me out of using it. so i found out that the BR to be the next best weapon on the map. You can use the BR while running along the upper walkways and shoot at people pretty much anywhere you see. you can hide behind the pillars, if the other person who has the BR is across the room shooting at you.

Behind the pillars you can also let your shielf recharge if you are avoiding Turrets and/or gunfire from across the room.

and Lastly grenades are very helpful when turning corners. you can very easily bounce them high off the wall in front of you.

a fun thing too do with your friends is all of you get in a Hog’…if you’re playing with one, and drive around the upper walkways with it, getting the hog up there using the Grav lifts. then if guarding a base, park the hog at the end of the room with the turret facing the entrance, you can assume what to do next…

thank you for reading the entire thing if you did…i just love this map.

Dear Podtacular

I have a couple of tips for foundation

1) On games with no sheilds like S.W.A.T or zombies use the explosive barrels to your advantage!! I can name countless times where because of them i’ve got up to a killtacular with 1 shot (3 actually it was the battle rifle). All you need to do is wait ‘till the enemy runs past and KAPOW, ee ooo aaa errr dead.

2) On zombies if they have all crammed into room 1 and your the only zombie on your team and the humans have pushed up a box or two, roll up all the explosive barrels in front of their defence, then get far away shoot with your pistol or shottie and KABANG, those boxes will go flying in there like a eagle on speed. They somtimes kill but not too often. Now rush in sword a swingin’, mouth a yellin’, score a risein’. It is posible to kill them all in only one fury of death.

Keep up the good work,

Bobolitch

P.S You better get my name right or else

Random Tip of the Week

ok so when you become a level 26 on Barbie’s Horse Adventure, the whole game changes. make sure you go for those “Pink Hairspray” powerups or those “Moisturising Cream Orbs”. Also make sure that you do not get eaten alive by the evil clone Ken’s. also make sure your trusty steed stays happy and give her lots of “Edible Cosmetics” as you gallop through the Tulip fields.
