EliteSpartan182

Hey there Podtacular. Its EliteSpartan182 again for around the ring I was
looking on Wikipedia and found out that theDigital rights management (DRM)
is a generic term that refers to access control technologies used by
hardware manufacturers, publishers, and copyright holders to limit usage of
digital media or devices. The term is used to describe any technology which
makes the unauthorized use of media or devices technically formidable and
generally doesn’t include other forms of copy protection which can be
circumvented without modifying the media or device, such as serial numbers
or keyfiles. It can also refer to restrictions associated with specific
instances of digital works or devices. Digital rights management has been
and is being used by companies such as Sony, Apple Inc., Microsoft and the
BBC. Digital rights management technologies attempt to control use of
digital media by preventing access, copying or conversion to other formats
by end users. Long before the arrival of digital or even electronic media,
copyright holders, content producers, or other financially or artistically
interested parties had business and legal objections to copying
technologies. Examples include: player piano rolls early in the 20th
century, audio tape recording, and video tape recording (e.g. the “Betamax
case” in the U.S.). Copying technology thus exemplifies a disruptive
technology. Hope that helped. Good luck with the show and keep on fraggin
veto singing noobs that think they could pwn me then I win 25-7.

Scarface_Spartan

Hey guys, Scarface_Spartan here again..

Now, I’m gonna talk about what a good DRM is suppose to be (in my
opinion)

1. It has to be something like Steam. (If you didn’t know, Steam is the
ONLY nice DRM system out there.)
2. Don’t count the installs, count where they are installed. (For example,
if I install this game (I’ll use Crysis as an example) 15 time in the same
computer, then that is not illegal. But if you see it installed on 3
computer from different countries, then it’s illegal)
3. Uninstalls once it’s job is done (unlike SecuROM < not made by EA,
SecuROM is made by Sony)
4. Hacker proof.

Closing notes:
SecuROM is ok to hate.
SecuROM is part of a long history of security failures (waay back, until
the Trojan War and even until now, like that LifeLock crap)

I say, Keep on Fragging n00bs who can’t drive, shoot, fly, play, swim,
die
and think properly especially NAYNAY who is still missing while climbing
w/
da Yetis while also fragging da Bungie staff cuz he/ she can’t have
anus
armor.. For anyone who has seen, eaten, shot, drove over and killed NAYNAY
plz.
send me his/ her dead body to the Philippines AIRMAILED in a coffin full
of plasma grenades.. Thank You..

Alright, I’m not a PC gamer but I know that DRM sucks. I once tried to get
Spore online but then it said I had to go to EA to get it. This just really
annoyed me and I got angry and then unplugged my mouse and slammed it at
the wall. I’m going to have to go to gamestop to by a new one ASAP. This is
my first submission so I hope I get this right. Keep on fraggin’ N00bs
yelling veto as if it was their last breath, Emo midgets who listen to too
much Slipknot, General Bang and Oh Yeah, trucks. P.S. Could you do Halo
Wars for the next ATR? The demo came out on XBL Marketplace today.

ChuckieJ

haven’t had to experience the DRM issue much. Seems like to me Steam has
a great solution. From your account you can download the software to
whatever computer you are on, right? But I imagine those multiple computers
can’t play online together? That would make sense, so that people who want
to play together still have to buy separate copies.

Some kind of DRM is necessary though. While I don’t care about companies
making “huge profits” they do need to be able to get enough of a return on
their investment to make it worthwhile and encourage them to make new and
better games. This can’t happen if each person gives a copy to two or three
of their friends. (Or more)

Fungus Oz

I haven’t bought that many EA game lately, but i have noticed that the fact
that you cannot have multiple accounts on one computer or play at a friends
house on Spore is probably the most EPIC FAIL in the history of gaming. One
other thing that really REALLY hacks me off is not DRM, but for some reason
EA have made it so you have to register a SEPARATE online account on XBL
for every game that you play published by EA. And me being 12, (turning 13
soon) means I can’t even play Battlefield Bad company online, which is the
main reason I bought the game. This series of stunts pulled by EA makes it
officially my least favorite games publisher/developer of ALL time.

P.S For those people swearing inside their heads about THOSE F*ing 12
year olds, they’re screwing up the service! I’ll just let you know I
normally have my mic turned off in matchmaking and I am a decent
player,(K/D ratio average in all slayer gametypes,1.13)

Nemisie

Hey guys at Podtacular Its me you friendly neighborhood Nemesis
this is my first time submitting so please bear with me
I have to say that the DRM is really annoying. I used to have a dell( it
ran vista so of course, i knew some day this would happen) and when I
installed PGA tour i think it was 2007 or 08 (i cant really remember) the
computer keep crashing so I being a do-fuss tried to installed after the
thired time not knowing what lay ahead of me. right when i tried to
install it it had said that the game registration had been denied. so me
again being the idiot, I called customer service and sat there for an hour
trying to get to a live human person. But of course that never happens in
EA games, because its all run by an elite team of robotic brains that want
to ruin gamers lives. But i can also see EA games perceptive of creating the DRM. They just want
to make the profit off the hard work they did. this is how a gaming
industry is run.

So as pc gamers we should learn a thing or two about EA games

1. never install a game on a vista platform 2. never call customer service else you just get a computer 3 never make EA angry else the robotic brains will kill you.

Keep on Fraggin trucks who are driven be the Infamous nay nay and his
Co-pilot the brains of the EA games who are whereing the limited edition of
purple anus armor.
