introductions

TO COVER

I just picked up my copy today at 9am at my local gamestop. Crammed it into
my 360 and immediately went OMG! I have been waiting for this game for a
looong time and its absolutely amazing. The graphics are just stunning.
Despite the occaisional “chug” during big battles, and the rare cutscenes,
this game is on the money when it comes to graphics. So detailed. I find
myself taking forever to get through just one room because i’m always just
lookin at stuff and picking up smokes ;). I just love the atmosphere in
this game, with the 50s music playing along with the carnage, its just so
cool. After awhile, you kind of forget that you are underwater. The
gameplay is also great. How many other games allows you to freakin
“re-write your genetic code”? lol. I am at the part with the big freezer
and i cant wait to keep playing.

Bioshock brings a new aspect to the world of first person shooters, the
environment. Going though the first couple of levels and using the
environment; such as hacking water, oil, etc., i could tell that this
really isn’t a traditional shooter, but more of a strategic shooter. The
lighting in this game makes the story more epic and exciting.

Sorry to say this but this game sucks. Non-online single player games are
over…i think at least. there are a few that stand out suck as oblivion,
even the old KOTOR (star wars knights of the old republic 1&2) are still
good but those games have good replay value. Bio shock is very straight
forward do this do that good job you beat the game who gives a * make a
game where you choose your own path sure its good to play once until you
beat it. i say rent it beat it forget about it… PPl making games need to
remeber replay value. welp sorry for being so down besides halo 3 is almost
here.

keep on fragging trucks,
Podtacular rec E for life

Wow! This game is Amazing. I just got it and I’m even surprised I’m here
typing this. I was stuck playing it for over 8 hours straight! This game
has game of the year nominee written all over it. The plasmids are great.
It’s a new way to battle enemies. Shock them in the water to kill them or
take bees to attack your enemies. Upgrading your weapons are hard to come
by. You find the machine, upgrade a weapon, and the machine is closed. You
can find phyical tonics to make you swing your wrench faster and move
faster. I don’t want to type my life story but I have to say is, “If you
don’t have this game, PICK IT UP NOW!”

I think Bioshock is a serious contender for Game of the Year. First off,
the story is amazing. It engrosses you in a very deep, very dark story.
And not much of the story is just given to you. You have to search and
play to find the main story, and little side stories. Graphics and frame
rate are good. The Game play is really fun. The guns and the plasmids were
well chosen for this game. It was always fun to set fire to a Big Daddy and
then load him (I’m guessing) up with a clip of machine gun or shot gun
ammo. I don’t want this to be too much longer so I’ll just add one more
comment about this game. This is the only game that has creeoed me out or
made my heart jump. That’s awesome. Also, Free roaming enemies is really
cool. You can go up against any enemy at any time.

Thanks for reading guys! Awesome podcast, friendly community.

Bioshock is so great because it is a game that is really more than a game. Bioshock is a piece of interactive fiction. The sound, music, atmosphere,
and lighting all pull you into the experience. I had many experiences
while playing this game that I have never had playing a videogame or even
watching a movie. Now granted I played my entire first playthrough late
at night and in total darkness. While this makes the game 10x scarier, it
is the only way to truly play Bioshock.
Bioshock is a VERY scary game. I jumped in my seat more times during the
first playthrough of Bioshock than I have during all of the horror movies
I have seen in my life COMBINED. There was one part early in the game
where I was in a steamroom and every 10 seconds the steam would spray and
blind me. At first I was looking around for an enemy to sneak up on me
but after 2 times none came so I figured it was just part of the
environment. The room fills with steam a 3rd time while I am searching a
desk. The steam clears, I turn around, and I had to bite my tounge to
keep from screaming and waking up everyone in the house. There was a
splicer just standing behind me, waiting until I turned around.

There are many encounters like that in Bioshock. The level of immursion
is so deep that you are truly terrified at times to keep going. While you
would think you would be able to guess when you are about to be ambushed or
jumped, Ken and the rest of the Devs did an AMAZING job of making each
encounter different. You are almost always surprised even when you know
it is coming. The most disturbing thing though, is when the splicers just
scream for 10 seconds. There is something about that sound that chills
the player to the bone.

Another thing Bioshock has done that no other game in history has done to
me is play on the emotions of the player. The relationship of the Little
Sister and the Big Daddy was actually touching. I hated killing the Big
Daddies because of how the little sisters cried. They truly loved Mr.
Bubbles. I thought the choice of saving or killing the little sister
would be easy, just kill her and get more power and then play again to get
the saving achievement. however after I killed the first one, something
changed. I could not bring myself to harvest anymore of them. Even
though I knew I would not get the good ending or the achievement, I still
chose to save the rest of them. There was one last thing that Bioshock
did that had me in awe. Bioshock made me hate, really and truly hate, one
of the characters in the game. When I realized what was happening I had to
pause and go, ”...WOW…Bravo Ken, bravo”

In closing, Bioshock is the best 360 game out there and has done one thing
I never thought possible. Bioshock took the top spot on my list for best
story and experience in a game, a title held for years by Deus Ex, one of
the greatest games ever made.

The AI is simply incredible, just before the ending the game saves, at
this point you can freely move around everywhere and no
splicers/cameras/turrets will attack you. This is incredible because you
are able to see the splicers be able to actually use the health stations,
plasmid stations and other machines. Even more impressive is that they will actually attack you if you are
beside a camera or turret which you have hacked (those still will attack
splicers because that was what they were hacked to do). For them to see
that the machine is actually co-operating with you they will start
shooting you if you are nearby one.
Just trying this out and taking pictures you can actually see that every
time you go into a new place, these splicers don’t reset. They explore the
maps freely and do their daily bidding.
At one point I was just roaming and two splicers both attacked the air in sync, and
jumped up at the same time too. They were actually training eachother :o

I finished bioshock recently, and I have to say, It was quite a treat to
play. The entire experience from the strange and disturbing recordings you
find lying around, to the plethora of usefull and interesting powers you
can obtain, all made the game special. The graphics were also incredible.
The entire game looked like a cutscene! My only gripe is that there really is no replay value to be had here,
unless you are going for other achievements or want to see the other
ending. But overall bioshock is monster of a game that deserves to be
played by everyone and anyone who has a 360.

Bioshock is an Awesome game, with lots of new game play elements. First
off, the lighting seems like you are in a horror flick. The way that
lights flicker on is genuinely creepy. It was as if something was watching
you. Secondly, The textures and water effects. The textures all take
realistic damage, and really look stunning when bullets are flying around.
The water is by far some of the greatest in-game water I have ever seen.
It is really cool, how you can shock the water to kill your foes. The only
thing I don’t understand is why you cannot freeze the water using a the
frost plasmid. Lastly, The plasmids and weapons is where the meat really
is. It is amazing how you can use plasmids to make foes your friends, or
hack security bots, so they can fight for you. Powers such as telekinesis,
help you to catch several objects that you can hurdle back at your foes.
Making Grenades tosses very worthwhile. The AI is certainly top notch, and
can be quite scary at times in close quarters. The only reason I have not
bought the game was the lack of Multiplayer. I know I’m cheap, but I
would rather just borrow it from a friend. If the water in Bioshock looks
this good, I can’t wait to see what Bungie has up their sleeves, for Halo
3. Will Bioshock be Console Game of the Year? My prediction says no. Even
though it deserves it, it won’t out do Halo’s blood thirsty fans. Maybe PC
Game of the Year. (Unless Crysis owns)

I’d Like to give a shout out to Chuckie J, and all the rest at Godtacular
Bible Study.

This game was great! I loved the story and gameplay. The only problem for
me was, once i finished the game, that was it. I haven’t touched it since.

Mutliplayer for the win!!!!!!!!!!

I love bioshock, it creates such eriee atmosphere, and the gameflow it so
awsome, in my personal Opinion bioshock is absoulte perfection in the
gaming world, I’d have to say my favorite plasmid is the Telekineses one,
and the way the game can be played tons of different ways, is awsome, and
I suggest Harvesting the litte sisters the first time round

I give bioshock a 10/10
