introductions

What we asked for on podtacular.com:

 1. What do you think of the price hike for the Legendary Edition of Halo 3 to $130? Which edition do you plan to buy?
 2. Which are you more excited about: The fiction and art book from the limited edition, or the storyboard art and master chief helmet in the Legendary edition?
 3. What do you think of the new Bungie.net? What do you like or dislike about it? Have you found any new secret corners Halo fans would be interested in?
 4. How do you think Halo 3 will end? Any ideas on the storyline?
 5. If you were a designer for Halo 3, what else would you put in the game? Think of things like maps, weapons, game types, vehicles, or other features. Get creative!
 6. What is your favorite color?

Hi guys, ive started to listen to the show, and think it’s pretty cool. Look forward to Halo 3, as many are, but i was hoping you could answer my question as to possible achievements. Since every game has achievements to unlock on the 360 i was wondering what were your thoughts as to what kind of achievements will be in Halo 3? Such as an achievement for double kill or running riot, etc. Also, correct me if im wrong, but did bungie say they were going to have real time damage show up on the Master Chief’s armor as you play along in the game? Such as if you were shot in the chest with a plasma rifle, and the damage shows up on the cinematic during game play. Thanks for taking the time in answering my two questions, really appreciate it. Peace out.

My speculation is based off the fact that we don’t know exactly what the
ark is. In most peoples mind the ark is a big forerunner weapon, and that
it was depicted in the announcement trailer.

Where my theory comes in to play is that maybe the massive structure that
most think is the ark, is a large time machine type thing-a-magigg.

Think about it the chief is going to “Finnish the fight” not one, but
all of the fights he’s started if he goes back in time than he can meet
the forerunners and with this supposedly being one of the last halo games
the game can end with the Master Chief coming back to the present and none
of the halos ever existed like he changed history. the humans and covenant
are in a peaceful civilization until all total war breaks out and that’s
the lead into halo wars (I know halo wars is before any of the halos but
the way I support my story none of the halos ever existed).

A mortar on large maps to blast the crud out of your opponents when playing CTF or Assult.
If you are an elite and unarmed, you can grab your enemy by the neck and slam him into the ground
The Shadow and Phantoms to be on Multiplayer
Suicide Bombers to be in the Single Player storyline
Elites wearing capes

Hey dudes your show is awsome but i got an idea for HALO 3 …. Mabye you can use the bumpers to switch weapons AND reload. Like double tap the bumpers to switch and single tap to reload or vica-versa. This is just a suggestion. I would like to shout to myself and my to my dog ‘butt’. Keep on fraggin cars.

Hey Podtacular! Hello to foomo, JVB and the mysterious mystery guest. I
wanted to tell you some of my thoughts on Halo 3. Short version: I agree
with most of what has been said in previous shows.
For instance, humans must be the Forerunners. That brings up the question,
why don’t the humans know this?

I also agree with JVB that Master Chief will give his life in defense of
Earth. Very poetic. I don’t really know why, but it seems like Bungie
would do that. However I disagree that the Halo universe will flourish
without him. Things like Halo Wars will do well I think, but who will see
a Master Chief-less movie? When the movie was first mentioned I thought
they might come out together or close so the stories could be intertwined.
Now the movie will have to be 1) a prequel? 2) some thing exciting after
Earth is saved?
I don’t see what that #2 could be since Bungie says in one of the videos
that you will finish “all the fights” you started in Halo 1.

Thanks guys, for all you do and I hope more people can join us in the
Godtacular Bible Study which I am now leading on Monday nights.

Keep on bluffing Wild Draw Fours!

I just started listening to your pod cast after it was highlighted by the bungie.net forum and have been listening since episode 103. I have to say this is one of the best pod casts I’ve ever had the chance to tune into.

anyhoo, in one of bungies updates (or a movie from one of the game conferences) they said that there was going to be a full map or lever editor. Now this could be like a far-cry kind of map editor of a more complicated “add your own textures” and whatever editor. Either way it sounds interesting, but it brings up a point, we now know bungie is capable if not willing to add extras to their games, and not just lame movie extras or behind the scenes stuff. Do you think that there might be a chance for a halo 3 editor? or on top of that, some halo 3 mini games? it is the last game of the series after all…

I think I know what the X-Button will be used for. It will be a sprint button, but you will be unable to use your BR, Machine
Gun, etc. anything that requires two hands. In the Monday Night Football commercial that came out, we see Master Chief
clip his machine gun to his back and than do a sprint (after throwing the
shield grenade) with a pistol in his hand.
The sprint will be capable, but there will be a negative aspect to it.

This is how I think Halo 3 should end

In the last level of Halo 3 you and the Arbiter are on top of a ruined
house, surrounded by thousands of brutes. In this level if you hold down
whatever button is used for switching weapons, the game pauses and you can
choose any weapon except the rocket launcher and Spartan laser. For all
other weapons you have unlimited ammo. You also have an extra amount of
health/shield because you got more advanced armor. As you slowly manage to
kill brutes a cut-scene happens showing you and the Arbiter back to back
killing brutes. In the distance a new type of brute tank comes that has a
Scarab cannon on it. The Arbiter passes you a Spartan laser from someplace
and tells you to destroy the tank. You shoot it, and throw the
energy-depleted Spartan laser at a brute, killing him. The fight resumes.
After killing more brutes the final cut-scene starts. The first thing it
shows is a brute ordering a jackal sniper (assuming they are still with
the covenant) to snipe you. As the jackal is about to shoot, the Arbiter
notices him and yells, “LOOK OUT!” The Arbiter jumps in front of you
and takes the shot for you. As you see the Arbiter fall you snipe the
jackal. You kneel down beside the Arbiter to see what happened and if you
can help. Before I continue I must add some important info. The covenant
built a Halo like structure around earth, planning to wipe out the human
race. Also the remaining humans went into the Forerunner structure seen in
the trailer. It turned out earth was a shield world. Back to the ending. As
you kneel there the Arbiter hands you another Spartan laser and tells you
he got it from a dead brute. He then shows you a covenant capital ship and
tells you to shoot the lateral line (which is where the plasma shoots
from). You do and the result it an explosion so big that half of the
covenant army was wiped out. As you look back to the arbiter you pull out
a button that will detonate enough nukes to blow up a planet. As you get
the button ready you say to the Arbiter, “It has been a pleasure
fighting beside you.” And the Arbiter says, “No. It has been a
pleasure fighting beside you, John.” And then the Arbiter takes of your
helmet and we finally see master chiefs face. The arbiter than says, “It
will also be an honor to die by your side.” With that you push the button
and the screen flashes white. You then see the earth’s surface turn white
as everything is destroyed. And the halo around the earth blows up (while
this is happening the theme music is playing). Then the credits start.
Because I refuse to believe this is the last Halo, at the end of the
credits the camera slowly moves across the rubble of the earth. Then some
rocks shake and Master Chief’s hand bursts through the rubble along with
the Arbiter’s.

Sorry this was so long but my whole family loved it.

My favorite color is blue. I think there should be a crossbow like weapon
that shoots energy arrows. Also there should be a balista (giant crossbow)
that shoots an energy sword like projectile.

1. In the end, it really isn’t a big deal! That edition is for collectors, you know, the ones who would buy it if it was $250 dollars? I think I’ll be picking up that edition. I mean, who doesn’t want every cut scene redone to look 360 caliber? Art books? Bring them on! The helmet seems a little lame, but it does help to sweeten the deal.
2. The art book and fiction. What is the helmet good for besides sitting on my shelf gathering dust?
3. Bungie.net seems much more sleek and stylish, so I suppose I approve.
4. As for plot, I think the prophets will come insanely close to activating ark, only to be stopped at the last possible millisecond. Johnson settles down with Miranda. Spartan IV’s anyone?
5. If I were designing Halo 3, I’d add the ability to have 50 person matches. I’d also put in some maps that could accommodate 50 people. Some sort of mass transport vehicle, and perhaps some sort of air strike weapon. I’d also add more control in custom games, offer the ability to force team changes in a zombies, and other things of that nature.
6. Blue, Duh!

With the rising of the Halo 3 Legendary edition I think my money will stay
right where it is…in the Limited edition version, an ENTIRE GAME
CHEAPER! You are basically paying 60 dollars for a spartan helmet and a
bonus DVD which most of the Limited edition already has. If you ask me it
is Microsoft juicing out on as much of what Halo is worth while it still
has time. Halo 3 is to Microsoft as the iPod is to Apple, without it they
would be in trouble. I am confident, however, that plenty of people will
invest money into the Legendary edition no matter how expensive it is, so
I guess it is a smart move on Microsofts part to increase the price 30
dollars. Good luck to all those paying the amount for two games for only
one game, I commend your allegiance to Halo. As for me I will be spending
my money on Halo 3 and possibly getting another game with it instead of
paying for a plastic helmet that you can’t wear. Keep it up Foo and
JvBiznizzle.

I think that the price hike of the Halo 3 Legendary edition has its pros
and cons. Pros: Bungie gets more money to make Halo 4 even better! (Ok,
that was a joke) I’m sure that the reasons for raising the price was
legitiment. Since the value of the dollar is decreasing, things are
getting more costly, and production costs are skyrocketing. Maybe that’s
not exactly the reason for a $30 increase, but I digress. Hopefully the
extra features will be packed with some good, long, interesting stuff,
It’ll be worth $30 extra dollars. The bad thing is that although having
legendary special DVDs and the like would be cool, you would probably
watch them once and be done with them. I would like to watch them once,
maybe even more, so I’m still going to get the Legendary edition.

As for the new Bungie.net, I really like it. It seems brighter and higher
definition. The images look better with these changes. It is easier to
find things such as groups and people on the forums and navigation is
easier. I also think it loads faster. maybe, maybe not. I like it better
that the old Bungie.net

My favorite color is red.

I personally am going to get the legendary edition. Halo has become a big
part of my life thanks to podtacular and I believe I should honor Halo by
buying the legendary edition. Plus the RvB and TSL dvds are gonna rock.
The spartan helmet will look tight even though you can’t wear it. For
those who can’t afford to spend $130 on a game try buying the collectors
edition and if your just a simple gamer just by the original edition.

Well, it’s lilkuke with with my two-cents about Halo 3 (Haro Tree!). I,
personally, am going for the legendary edition still. Even though they
upped it by $30, it’s still worth it. I can’t wait for the helmet.
I just checked out the new bungie.net and I didn’t look into it that much,
just the front page and it looks pretty saweet! I can’t wait to look more
into it!

I also have a continuation of my yo-yo tale from the foxhole. I went to
buy my Halo 2 yo-yo but all they had was Napoleon Dynamite. Darnit!
Wasted! Plus, the string broke 3 days later, so it was a rip-off. :(

I think Halo 3 will end in that Master Chief will take off his helmet at
some point and they he will start Michael Jackson dancing. Enough said.

If I was a Halo 3 designer, I would put bots in it although Bungie for
sure isn’t. I would put a mini-game where you have a BB gun and you try to
shoot birds with it. And the amount of blodd that comes out is your score.
For example, if you make 3 gallons of blood come out, you get 30 points. I
would also put an easter egg about easter in it.

And last but not least, my favorite color is red.

Shoutout to Meean Luc for being the only other Arizona Podtacular member
on the Frappr map. And a shoutout to Foo Mo for responding to my annoying
IM’s on Google Talk.

Keep on Viva’n Pinatas!

Hey all it’s every ones favorite Cricket Grunt/ PidgeonMaster, Babam! IN halo 3 I want to see
the ability to cahneg your model in multiplayer
the wasp from halo CE
the ability to dual wield gerbils
maybe smoke grenades
A skull that makes all the grunts say Babam!

Hey guys, just sending in I think would be pretty cool to se in Halo 3.
This may have been said already, but I don’t seem to remember hearing it
so here goes. What if you were able to jack vehicles by jumping from your
own ride? Here’s an example: You are in the back seat of a mongoose and
you pull along- side an enemy ghost. The guy in the back seat of the
mongoose stands up and leaps onto the ghost kicking the driver out. This
might be a hard feature to balance but I think it would be awesome if they
put it in.

1. I’m ok with the price hike…they estimated wrong it was an initial estimate. Yes I’m going to stick with it hand me back my pre-order reciept.
2. Hard to choose but the helmet will be my trophy to show off to friends.
3. The new site is gold but the forumsneed to fix their support of Opera. I hated the old site it navigated like a blind old man on the highway in the wrong lane.
4. The ark will have “Abandon all hope ye who enter here.” out of Dante’s inferno written on the Ark…you can’t prove it won’t happen.
5. I’d put back in sidewinder…
6. Red

Bee-Tee-double yew I’ve renamed Halo’s stuff to remove religious symbolism the names now are as follows:

Covenant= Blue Bay Packers
Ark= Big giant flap in the ground (or big giant thing)
MJOLNIR= EXO-FART suit
Tartarus= Mister Mohawk Man
Halo= Cheerio in the sky

I preordered the Legendary edition on Day 1 and, even after the price
announcement, I am still going to get it.

I personally don’t care about the price “raise” because all of the extra
content that is coming with it. The helmet is just sweet looking and the
fiction and art book is really compelling. I have always loved backstory
in games and movies so this is a must have.

I am also looking forward to seeing all of the community created content
(you guys did get a video or audio clip in there right? right?). It is
great that Bungie is showing love to all their community fans by putting
their products in there. You rock Bungie!

Keep on fraggin trucks Podtacular and I will see you in the Beta!

If I were a designer for Halo 3 I would add:

1. ONLINE CO-OP!!!!!!!!!!!

2. A hover craft and a map where a hovercraft would be useful (think
islands with bridges connecting some of the islands but with some only
accessible via hovercraft that contain power weapons.)

3. A game mode where waves of covenant and/or flood came at you and you
had to survive as long as possible. this could also be a co-op gametype.

4. a Zombies gametype where if a human died he automatically changed teams
and turned into a combat flood and would have all the powers of a combat
flood (strong melees, high jumping, the ability to fight without arms)

5. When a bomb detonated in Assault, it would actually destroy the base.

6. An objective game where there are certain objectives you can complete.
for example: Zanzibar. The attackers spawn on the beach and they have to
plant the bomb in the base. HOWEVER, the hole int he wall that you can
drive the vehicles through is a solid wall and there are automatic gun
turrets all over the windmill area. The team can win without doing any of
these secondary objectives but if they do them, it will be much easier to
win. So they can plant a C4 on the wall and blow it open to let vehicles
in. Then they can go to the camo tower and hit a switch which stops the
windmill which kills the power in the base causing the turrets to go
offline. Maybe Zanizbar is not the best example but hopefully you get the
picture.

I hope that a properly typed email will be a relief to you, but, if i do
happen to make any spelling and/or grammatical errors, feel free to pick
at it until your heart is content.

Anyways, it is my opinion that the Halo 3 Legendary Edition is reasonably
priced considering the high quality of the product and the very limited
amount to be made (I do plan to purchase one).

About the new Bungie.net: I think that is much better than the last one,
which was quite difficult to navigate and had information spread out
everywhere.

A gametype Bungie should consider including is an official version
“Zombies” where you actually turn into a flood (combat form) when you die.
It should be made so that it could be played online or off, and include
the option of having AI flood.

Lastly, as a piece of not so random information, my favourite color is
sage green.

Hello Foo Mo and friends. If I were a designer at Bungie Studio, I would
add a few things to Halo 3… First of all, I would put in a flintlock
gun. You know the old ones that they used in Pirates of the
Carribean.Anyways, maybe make some futuristic adjustments to it and voila!
A weapon suitable for Halo. I would also make the covenant seraph flyable
in multiplayer. I would resurect the M7057 Defoliant Projector
(flamethrower) and maybe the Halo 1 fuel rod gun. I would make a remake of
the maps Hang ‘em’ High, Death Island, Timberland, Gephyrophobia and
Infinity, along with a map on Threshold (the big red Gas Giant that
instalation 04 orbited) and a volcanic map. The volcanic map could
introduce a new gametype as well: Eruption! The team on defense’ job is to
guard their base which is built into the volcano. This volcano is used as a
generator for that base. The offense team tries to get into the enemies
base and shut down the lava disposal system, which will in turn make the
magma level rise and ultimately destroy the base. that’s all my ideas but
before i go i must tell you this story. I was walking home from school one
day, listening to episode 99 of Podtacular. It was a Thursday. The sun was
setting and the wind was blowing. All was quiet. All of a sudden, as JVB
and Vicous 696 are laughing about the Pimpmobile, there is a noise behind
me. I turn to see what it is and I see that it is a big red van. Not quite
unusual, i know. But listen to this. I looked at the licence plate and it
read as follows: JVB696. I thought that someone had stolen the
Pimpmobile…

Keep up the great work and start spike’en trucks.

My speculation is based off the fact that we don’t know exactly what the

The price hike for the legendary edition does not bothor me much,
considering I have $250 because it was my birthday a week or two ago. It
does not matter anyway, because my mom or papaw is probaly going to pay
for it anyway. Im more excited about the behind the scenes of the making
of halo 3, those things always seemed to intrest me. I find the new
bungie.net a little to simple, considering I have been using the old site
for a long time, its confusing. I do like the new site though, although it
will take some getting used to. Im not exactly sure how halo 3 will end or
how I want it to end. The only thing I can say is I don’t want it to be a
boss battle. If I was a designer, I would make a remake of foundation
because I always loved that map in halo 2. I would also put some of the
fun customs as official pre-set ones. I would try to talk bungie into
letting us drive the pelican or phantom, I’ve always wanted to do it on
halo 2. (I did in Halo Custom Edition though). I have alot more ideas, but
I don’t want to talk for a long time again (Like last halo 3 show).

Well I will be getting the Legendary edition, my pre-orders already in
and all i gotta do is go pick it up on launch day. C’mon who doesn’t
want the kick-ass Spartan Helmet?

The bungie.net new page is kick ass, it kinda hits you all at once so
at first it was confusing trying to find everything but it looked
good, note as good as podtacular.com of course.

ENDING TO HALO 3: The halo world will change into the Weekly porrige
world and we’ll discover that Jeverage is infact Cortana and Painkilla
is the chief. Cliff hanger I know.

My favorite color is fuashia because I cant spell it. Its a fact if I
cant spell it it must be cool, for some reason I can spell JVB
perfectly though….?

Well the price hike is a good idea and halo is a role playing game. No
seriously, bad idea, but seeing as how i never buy games brand new,and
this is Halo 3, i will splurge on the legendary edition. I look forward to
the helmet as i like collectibles. On added features, like Doom, I would
like to see the original Marathon series added to the pack. If im spending
alot, i might as well get alot. well also, the “x” button should let you
activate the arc so that when you play legendary and you get mad, you can
just kill everybody and everything. Favorite color, blue. Keep on fraggin
trucks.

Hey, First off my favorite color is indago, but i think halo 3 will end by
showing master cheif face, and he will not de, becauuse everyone wil think
that he will die, but im sure bungie might have a twist to it, the arbiture
will form an alience with his peole and the humans. The forerunners will
apear in the end of the game, and the flood, will officially be destroyed
leaving it at that with no sequles leading it. The price hike of the
legendary edition to th halo 3 game was aa smart play by bungie, mostly so
they could get more money, and even though its 130 bucks true halo fans
will still buy it. I changed my mind, my favorite color is orange. And a
shout ot to BrotherBillyBob Anticlothes, and xXVolcomXx. Great Job with
the podcasting guys. Keep on Smudging Cadillacs!!!

I plan on buying the Legendary Edition of Halo 3. I do this for many
reasons: 1. i love watching all the behind the seens stuff because it
helps you appreciate the work that was put into the game and to understand
the game better as a whole. Secondly, i’m weak and spend money on stuff i
really don’t need but i still get it anyways(like when i bought GoW).
Thirdly, i want to watch my 2 year old sister run around with the MC
helmet on while smacking people with lincoln logs. Fourthly, i like
picture books. Fifthly, i want people to walk into my house and say “T is
a demigod whose powers as a gamer excert mine” when they see my uber 4
disc set of power complete with stand.
Shoutout to JP Oliver, Sausages, Fierce Minja, and Rist Peblo.
Keep up the good work guys because you complete me just like Renee
Zellweger completes Tom Cruise.
ps. my favorite color is blue.

well podtacular halo 3 will be amazing for many reasons more so than
anything else the campaign i agree with JVB the chief will die but
something that you haven’t thought of at all is that the prophets will be
betrayed by the brutes i say this because the phrase that bungie used for
there halo 3 glipse at the brutes was E Tu Brute which in Latin means and
or even you to Brutus. the same thing happened to Cesar Brutus one of his
childhood friends ended up helping in his assassination. now that most of
the covenant have left the prophets and possibly joined the humans the
prophets took a great blow and now are very crippled and those stupid
brutes are “in it to win it” so i don’t think that they would
continue the prophets work if they found out what halo really is besides
it would be historical and bungie has related a lot of there story to
biblical passages. it would be perfect at the prophets desperate time of
need they would be abandoned by the brutes just as Cesar was betrayed by
brutus. i know I’m dragging on again but here’s a short list of things i
want in halo 3
1. personally i don’t want balance in all the weapons because we are
freaking playing with alien technology do you honestly think that every
thing will be perfectly balanced like GoW (no offence to gears i love that
game but its is all completely balanced)
2. no breathing effect my reason is you are the f’ing master cheif in
robot armor that can lock in place and use gears to move your person
smoothly so breathing shouldn’t have any effect on your shooting
3. lastly i want a warthog with three things a bumper sticker that says
keep on fraggin trucks, a second bumper sticker that says da chief eats
pooeynutlogs like you for breakfast! and finally a license plate that says
BAABAM (to all you hopefuls that is already on my license plate already
says that so too bad for you)
keep on fragin trucks
P.S. to the editor i sent something similar to this please disregard that
post thank you

sorry guys SGO LoneWarrior again but i forgot to add this to my last
comment but as for the price increase for the legendary edition i am
pissed but i am a complete halo fan boy and i will get the legendary
edition regaurdless of the cost all i have to say is it better be pretty
freakin amazing and if not i get a mjolnir helmet which i will make a
larger version of that i can fit into. this will be speical as it will
have a screen on the inside of the face plate i will then intergrate a 360
connection port so that i can play halo 3 with the same exprience that the
chief has i will lot stupid as hell and when i finish it i will send a
picture to you guys so that people can have a good laugh at a nerd who
just loves halo a little to much.(every thing after this will be
speical as it will have a screen on the inside of the face plateis
just a load of bs)

shout outs to Angle Leviathan, Greeneggsandsam, T-stir, and the rest of podtacular(foo mo, JVB, captin crunk, ETC.)and go
Rec D! keep on fragin trucks guys

These are things I think should be in the Halo 3 legendary Edition.

1. Ba-Bam the grunt underwear: which can be worn with the Master Chief
helmet to terrorize the neighbors.
2. Don’t Make Me Mute You: this is a book containing 101 sentences which
do not containing swear words. (for reference during game play)

3. “I Need a Beer”: this is a never before released album of Marty
O’Donnell playing the drunken halo piano solos at the Bungie Saint
Patrick’s Day party.

4. And of course the first 100 truck fraggin EPISODES OF PODTACULAR.

Well first of all, I’ve hear a lot of ideas and interesting little inputs
about what Bungie should put in Halo 3. If you think about it though, most
of that stuff is seriously unlikely to EVER happen. Sure it’s fun to
imagine, but you’ve got to be realistic, like, flying a Pelican? Sure it
sounds awesome, but in order for that to work, you would need to put in a
human equivalent to the banshee, and you would have to add the wraith, and
expand the Multiplayer enormously, just to fit all that on there, not to
mention make it look beautiful like Bungie tends to. To be honest, the
most I’m expecting out of Bungie in the new vehicle category, is a human
version of the Banshee, say like an Apache Helicopter or one of those
space fighters seen flying around in obviously space in halo 2. But as far
as weapons go, huge and drastic improvements, already known for most, like
the needler becoming a two-handed weapon, and so on. The fact is, that in
order to have reasonable ideas to formulate guesses on what is going to
be, you have to think like Bungie, like, your not going to use other game
ideas and put them into Halo, thats not how they do it, you’ve got to base
ideas around halo and the halo universe and story. As far as the Story
goes, I’d expect GREATLY to see the human race fall, Bungie has always
thrown in a little twist or two, like the Covenants’ civil war. I can’t
honestly even begin to think about Bungie’s story line, it’s way to deep
to even think realistically about. As far as gameplay goes, I think that
the new controller configuration will be an amazing new idea and way of
FPS layout for years to come. And as far as the “X” button secret goes, I
think it has to do possibly with the shield Grenade that was in the teaser
trailer, but the teaser trailer was also said to have just been a teaser,
nothing really related to the game besides the whole, halo thing…but you
never know…good work with PODTACULAR guys, it’s halarious to listen to
during math class!!

Hey guys love the show.
Considering the latest hype with video game violence and such. Is anyone
concerned that the hype of halo 3 will cause it to be delayed because of
the huge audience waiting to purchase the game?

Ahhh Bungie how could you increase the price it’s going to be high in
aussie money as it was but now, now i’m just gonna buy limited or normal.
I want the fan fiction and the storyboard, but ain’t gonna pay $170 aussie
dollars for a game and the storyboard (the only things that I want from the
Legendary edition). I just gotta say Keep up the good work and keep dual

I really want the Legendary Edition of Halo 3. But I’m wondering
how ‘limited’ the limited edition is going to be. Is it going to be as
easy to pick up as the Halo 2 special edition? Or am I going to have a
hard time getting my hands on one of these without a pre-order? Should I
be rushing to EBGames immediately?

To be honest with you, I was pretty mad when I first heard of the price
increase. As a fan, I expected Bungie to keep their word and not
disappoint me. What were they thinking ? I had already put down 25 dollars
for the game back in November and knowing now that i still have to pay over
a hundred dollars more just upsets me. I will still buy the legendary pack
regardless because I am hardcore, but because I’m paying for the legendary
pack and going the extra step, this game better be the best damn game ever.
There had better be stricted regulations on any type of cheaters and other
sorts of badguys. The halo 3 engine should be flexible enough but secure
enough where only bungie can modify it and fix exploits. It would be
really disappointing if I shelled out 130 dollars for a game, and people
just used it for cheating and making my online experience a nightmare.
Dont disappoint me bungie.

Redchannel
PS. I really hope that Microsoft and bungie aren’t trying to bank and take
advantage of devoted halo fans. That would suck.

I’ve said it before a 3D radar system that would allow players to
receive detailed information about there surrounding area in 3d for
example before entering the enemies base to retrieve the flag consult your
virtual radar and examine the area around the flag to see who’s guarding
it combined with a heat sensor not even stationary foes will be able to
hide from you, an extended version of this could be a entire map reading
much like GRAW where an entire view of the map and the location of enemies
is visible, furthering this your team mates radar information could be
linked to yours to forming a more overall view and location of enemies
this I feel would represent what Spartans could do i wont even mention the
cross com ability’s that could be added
I think what bungie needs to do is keep halo halo but add features to
increase multiplayer teamwork

Vehicles:
I was browsing the halo wars website checking for updates some body im
sure has already spotted this but the sparrow hawk should be added to
counter the banshee that would be really cool

And finally i will be purchasing the legendary edition not only for the
video audio optimizing disc but also for the artwork and docs included;
price just isn’t an issue in this case.

hey guys its lancelot59 aka Ghost Rider! yes i have two gamertags. Anyway
so some things i would put in halo 3 are.

1. An active holster system. It would have two “active” slots and one
“passive” slot, each with a weapon or dual wield set. So when you press
the switch button it goes between the “active” slots, but when you have a
second you can push a button and use the weapon or dual wield pair that
you have in the “passive” slot. This would allow for more stratagies in
game-play.

2. Total customization abilities when it comes to your character. You
should be able to pick colours for things like his helmet etc. Giving the
opportunity for even funnier looking MC’s. Like that picture of MC raving
that bungie had up on it’s site. Also adjustable height and such.
3. HAVE IT OUT FOR PC AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!!
4. Since we PC users have a whole keyboard of buttons have more advanced
in-game machinima controls. Such as you push a button and the MC puts the
gun on his shoulder. Or you can move his head apart from his body etc.
That would be kick ass for PC users making machinima as it would mean more
realistic acting without having to actually animate the characters.

5. Like in half-life have other people available for multiplayer, such as
Sgt. Johnson, that old guy and so on.

hey guys (and possible female mystery guest. or is it Frankie?) this is the
Hooligan with more Halo 3 spec.
-First of all, I don’t have an XBox (so unfortunate) but if I did I would
still get the Legendary Edition. I want that helmet!

-It’s probably too late now to get Bungie to add something like this, but
maybe this could be an update later on. Bungie should build a
mini-program feature that lets you record your own dialogue for the
characters in Champagne. You could get the Grunts to say stuff like
“BABAM!” or “I love you!”. lol. The Brutes could say “My name is Sue.” and the Marines would say.. well, whatever you want. That would be
cool.

-The flamethrower would be cool if they finally put it in for XBox (it’s
only in the PC version right now). For those who don’t know, it spits
flame that can bounce off walls to hit opponents. I’m pretty sure it also
eats away at shields (like you spray it and the enemy catches on fire), so
only a little bit will take a good chunk out. It also does some pretty
decent damage.

-X button? yes i have a theory. Foo Mo said on one of the episodes that
it could be to activate the shield grenade. Maybe it’s the activation
button for all grenades. Like for the frag you pull the pin, and the
sticky you push the button or whatever. and if you hold it, you could set
a small timer on it, maybe up to 10 seconds. This way you could drop it
and a guy following you gets a loud and painful surprise. not
earth-shattering but definitely would change the way we play Halo.

- I agree with other ideas like destructable environments, dual-wield
melee, etc.
-My favorite color is green, but blue runs a close second.

Thanks guys and keep on fraggin’ Mongeese. Mongooses? Mongise? i don’t
know.

i think i may be the first to bring this up but the “shield grenade” wich
is what i will always call it may turn the tide in more than just slayer
games
imagine you have a shield grenade and an enemy rushes the base with the
bomb you activate it just before he makes it in and call where he is he is
unable to arm and your team gang rapes him you win and you eat your cake

also, i wonder if the shield is a full sphere like you are in vallhalla
and your near a shallow cliff you activate the shield but there is a large
gap for throwing a nice spike grenade

When I used to watch Red vs Blue and not play much Halo I used to think
that when you talk into your mic your head appears to bop up and down.
Later when I was less of a noob I realised it was just up to where you
look.
With Halo 3 now coming I thought “With all this machinima and game-movie
relying-upon, why wouldnt Bungie find a way to put it into the game
somehow?”.

And, will the new Halo 2 maps be also in Halo 2 Vista? Or will people have
to make it themselves? Would they be playable someway against console
owners?

PS. Halo 3 should go like this:
The game begins – Master Chief walks onto Earth and says “I’m gonna finish
this fight.”
END.

I think that it’s too early to decide whether or not to get Legendary. Alot of stuff can happen between now and then, and there’s a chance
Microsoft will go back down in price due to the large amount of
complaints. Just as easily as they bumped the price up, they can always
bring it back down. I’m staying with Legendary for now.

The Magical Theory of Grunt Evolution goes as this:

The young Grunt, or Grunties, are the backbone of the Covenant race. They
slowly mature into the strong fighting forces, known as the…Grunt! After
it has achieved enlightenment, it matures into a Jackal, or in other words,
the Covenant Teenagers. As a Jackal, the Grunt must protect the younger,
baby Grunts. Once the Jackal achieves his goal in protecting 100 Baby
Grunts, he will then evolve into…An Elite! As the Elite, the Grunts job
is to help the Emu Prophets goal of destroying the universe. Once the
Elite has proved himself in battle, he is awarded the “Armour Of The
Gruntites.” Which in other words means the Elite has become one of the
strongest fighters of the Covenant, the Uber Grunt (AKA, Hunter).

Well, first, i can’t wait for the release of halo 3, but i wasnt too
excited about the price increase for the legendary edition. i dont know
why they would raise the price because $100 was bad enough. but, in the
end, i didnt want to miss out on the last halo game of the trilogy, so i
got the legendary edition, although im not to sure what is in it. i know
theres high-res cut scenes from halo 2 and community things like red vs
blue and this sartan life. if you guys could tell me what came with the
legendary edition, that would be great.

thanks podtacular, and by the way, since it said it on the frot page of
the website, my favorite color is green.

my favorite color is tickle me pink!

I know that their is new vehicles, but i woul like 2 see a different kind
of Warthog in the mix. Gauss was powerful, but it was no match for other
vehicles. I would like a new type of turret, i dont know wat kind but hey,
im sure JVB can come up with some great ideas (a turret shootin meatloaf or
sumthing).

Hello Im chunkydude95. I started lisnting at episode 90 and your show is
awsome and stuff. I got a question about the story? What happened with
the Arbiter and his junk? Like what will he do with the Cov. trying to
activate Halo and stuff while the MC tries to destroies it and stuff. So
yeah. I would like to shout out to myself(chunkydude95) and my Best friend
poopynachoo 300. P.s. Why do you keep on fragging trucks? I dont understand why you say
that.

I am really enjoying the new look of Bungie.net. It’s much smoother
looking and from my experience, loads a lot faster when browsing through
the game stats.

The profile page has a much better look. It now includes your Gamercard
along with a few lifetime stats such as Total Kills, Total Deaths, Games
Played, and Total Assists to see how many kills have been stolen from you
over the years.

Unless I’m remembering the old site incorrectly, there are a few new stats
in the game overview also. The ones that I noticed are the individual
breakdown of medals for the game, along with how many of each medal people
got. It also tracks how many of each type of kill you got (Shooting,
Melee, or Nade), and the weapon with the most kills for each person. The
Game Viewer still sucks though, so nothing new there.

Overall, I really like the redesign and I’m looking forward to more
features when the Halo 3 beta and the actual game come out.

XBmaster

P.S. I forgot to mention that they used something to prevent from having
to reload the page after every click, which is much appreciated.

Halo 3 Price Increase:

Personally, I am really upset about the new increase in price of the
Legendary Edition. Therefore, I will be switching to the Collectors
Edition. The Collector’s Edition is only $70 rather than the Legendary
Edition being $130. I’d rather spend that $60 on another game (save up for
Halo Wars perhaps?). I’m sure Dialpex agrees with me?

Halo 3 Bundle Excitement:

I am more excited for the Fiction and Art book. Most likely, this will
show things about the Halo storyline and concepts we’ve never seen before.
Sure, the storyboard art would be nice, but the helmet? It serves as a nice
trophy in your room for buying Halo 3, but other than that, it doesn’t do
much (unless you have a cat).

New Bungie.net:

I really like the new Bungie.net. The new layout is really nice and easy
to use. My personal favorite part about it is the new profile layout. You
can customize your own Profile on B.net. The new Bungie is great!

hey! it’s the ironicpear! i wanted to send in some halo 3 stuff! i think
i’ll be buying the limited edition…now that the legendary is $130…it
may dent my wallet a bit too much…also i’m excited about the limited
edition’s fiction and art book. That will not be in the legendary edition.
it would be cool to have the legendary edition, but i think i will be
pleased with the limited edition.

i really like the new Bungie site!!! even though the last site was cool,
this brings it up a notch…the layout is really easy to read and figure
out, and it looks crisp and modern. The only complaint i have is that when
you are moving your mouse over the top buttons on the screen and you leave
the mouse there a bit to long, a help bubble comes up with the title of
the button…it’s really minor, but i couldn’t really find anything
wrong!!! also i guess they haven’t really updated the weekly halo 3
update, because all my computer is getting is some from january and
february…just a few minor glitches that may be only happening on my
computer! good job bungie!

i was thinking for a map design, i would make a map that has plenty of
corridors and chambers connecting to a central area. in the corridors,
they would have ceilings, but have gaps in the ceiling ever once in a
while…people could hide above the ceiling, and surprise people when they
come down…there could even be whole battles in the ceiling…this would
be more of a human map.

also, maybe as a new feature, when you fall off a map, like in lockout,
if you are sliding off and are close enough to the edge, you would grab
on…you might be only able to do this for a couple seconds, but it might
be a cool feature: unbalanced but cool. I might just have Crackdown on my
mind though!

I know this was a little long winded….i hope this makes it on the
show…and by the way, my favorite color is BLUE!!! like my carpet!!!! i
also hope to get xbox live soon, so i can play with you guys!!

Go Bungie!!! Go Podtacular!! and i hope you guys have fun in life.

If I were making Halo 3, I would make Master Cheif a grunt (just kiding). Bungie is already making the next installment i the Halo series as awesome
as it can be. One thing I would do, however, is make it so that you can
record machinima with the “Game Recorder” and the upload it to your
PC/Mac. Another thing I’ld like to do is improve the emblem creator by
allowing you to make your own design and upload it to the 360. As for the
new site, I’ld have to say it looks rather bland. With the SKU’s, I’m
probably going to get either the Limited or the Legendary edition.

Shout outs to my brotha from the same motha a surly hobo (his tag is a
surly hobo), Rec E, and Foo Mo Drive and AAA (aka JVB) for the awesome
podcast.
Keep on pelting nubes with beanie-weenies.

I have been thinkig abut Halo 3 and what i would want to put in the game,
I would want to have weapon that could charge up, and the gun would burst
a hail of lasers that would target a player. but to make it fair, it would
take 5 seconds to charge and you would have to stand still. I would also
want to have a game type were you would get into a warthog or mongoose,
and you would charge at each other in the veichles. Well thats the short
version of what i want.
Good Job Podtacular Keep on Fragin Trucks
p.s hope CapnKrunk gets a new 360

The one thing I’m most excited about is the Chief helmet for three good
reasons. One, if you can somehow manage to wear it, yiu will be a chick
magnet as long as you wear it. Two, on Halloween you can scare the crap
out of kids by popping up out of bushes with the helmet. And third, just
putting it on your bedroom window for all to see will just make people
either adore you or want to kill you and take the helmet. Keep on fraggin
trucks!

Hey guys! I have a new weapon I thought I’d share. If you have ever played
the PC online game called Endless War 3 you will notice that the aliens
have a weapon called the Torque Blow. If you just shoot it normally it
shoots little blue dots. However, if you press spacebar, a 16 shot cluster
is fired at the target. Once it makes contact with the target, bullets fly
everywhere and oblitirates everything. I was thinking that for Halo 3 they
could have a gun like that but with a little less firepower to make it
balanced. If you haven’t played the game, go to addicting games.com and
play it. Very addicting. Keep on fragging trucks.

I was just wondering, do you think it would be possible to walk off the
edge of Halo? ‘Cause if you look at Halo you can see on the edge that the
world just abruptly ends, so my guess is that you could walk off and
wonder into space…

What do you guys think?

-Dual aiming. When dual wielding, you should be able to hold the X or B
button for a couple seconds and you would enter a mode in which you could
aim both weapons in separate directions. The left thumbstick would aim
the left weapon, and the right thumbstick would aim the right. While in
this mode, you would move with the Dpad. Looking around would depend on
where you point the weapons. It would take a while to get used to, but
would be really useful when you do.

-A similar idea with the sword: limited free-form fighting. press and
hold X or B while holding the sword and you could use the left thumbstick
to swing the sword in the direction you move the stick, use right
thumbstick to look around, and the Dpad to move. Because the Dpad will
probably be mainly for switching between the four grenade types, you
couldn’t switch grenades while in this mode, but could still throw them. Again, this would take a while to get used to, but would be really useful
when you do.

Thanks again guys and keep on Babamming anal bunyons with homocide sauce.

This is how I would end Halo 3-
After the Arbiter and the Chief joined together along with the Covenant
they engage in one final battle against the Brutes and such. In this
level you will have to fight off multiple waves of troops while keeping
your army alive. The Arbiter will die in this battle after giving his
life to protect the Chief. Towards the ending of the battle, another Halo
is activated through a radio remote. The only way for this remote to be
stopped is to be destroyed. And the only way for that to happen is a self
destruct mechanism that will result in a massive nuclear type explosion. As the battle continues the Marines and other allies are picked up and
shipped off the site. After staying alive for all 500 troops being
shipped off you have to make your way to the remote station. When you get
there a video clip begins in which chief removes his helmet and looks back
on the army of Brutes and all running at him. With one mocking salute he
pushes the destruct button and then we see a wide shot of wherever the
battle was and we see a nuclear type explosion. Then images of the side
characters reactions flow through the screen. Then we see a shot of the
chief’s helmet (somehow still intact) as the screen fades out. And there
is the end of Halo 3.
Oh, my favorite color is green.

Keep fraggin’ cute furry animals and your mom who I almost respect.

Wrap up

Until next time I’m Foo Mo Jive (and this is)
