Dynasty Warriors: Gundam (preview)

The Good

The first thing that struck me were the graphics. I thought they were incredible and I am not even seeing them on an HDTV. Compared to any other Dynasty or Samurai Warriors game, they are just a huge improvement.

Another thing is the use of story. Since I, myself, am a fan of Gundam, I loved that they mixed the stories from Gundam Wing, G Gundam and Turn A Gundam. It makes the new story interesting for those of us who have ever wondered which gundam is the best.

I personally loved the battle system since it's simple enough that you can just jump in and start playing, but it's also complex enough that you just can't press A the entire time and hope you won't die. This applies even more when you start fighting area bosses which sometimes will relentlessly attack you and you have to find an opening. Sometimes you might even be double teamed or even triple teamed.

The Bad

I think the worst thing about the demo is that it's very short. You only get one level and sometimes that doesn't show the full light of the game.

My guess is that most people will probably dislike this game due to it's hack and slash nature, but if you're a true gamer you will at least give it a chance. Besides, you might love it like I do. The same thing applies to it's gundam label. Many people don't like anime so that might keep them away from this great game.

Overall Impression - Good

Personally, I loved this game. I thought it was great. I cannot wait until it comes out and I am able to buy it and find out what the Original story is.
