Site Downtime (Updated)

Just as a heads up, we will be moving the site in the next couple of days. During this time, the site will be offline. We ask that you please be patient while we make the transition. Thanks.

Moving problems

Oh, the naivete. What we really meant was that we were going to be testing your patience and resolve while we just sat around, ate marshmallows and flung boogers at the ceiling for the last week. Then we decided to turn the site back on and have a laugh.

OK, not really. While we had every intention of having the site moved within two to three days, things went and got all crazy in the process, including Dust Storm and I not being able to find the site for two days. Yes, we LOST THE SITE in the intertubez. *GASP!*

Once we regained our composure and got things back in order, somebody (I won’t mention who but his name rhymes with Crust Form) worked a little too much voodoo on the new forums and made them get all broked. But we’re working on getting that fixed so you can all get back to your discussions.

Something else you surely must’ve noticed by now is that the homepage looks a lot different than what it used to be. That’s because we made a move to WordPress for our blogging platform of choice. Over the next week or so, you might see some funny business as we try and clean up some of the mess left over from the move, and if things start breaking, please use the contact form to let us know.

What this means for the podcast and community news is an all-around zippier site that won’t set the server on fire any time someone posts a comment. (Yay.) Unfortunately, what this also means for you, our dear listeners, is that there won’t be the same sort of features that we had before, like user profiles, buddy lists or individual blogs. (Boo.) I know that’s a hard pill to swallow, but over the years, we’ve seen that most of the activity around the site has found a home in our forums, which, did I mention are now updated!

So welcome to the new Podtacular. In a new home, and hopefully faster and more reliable than ever, thanks to the good folks at The Waffle Iron, and back on track as one of the best Halo communities IN THE WORLD.

UPDATE: The new forums are now open. Go forth and discuss!
