Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2

Platform Xbox Live Arcade | Publisher Activision

This is Geometry Wars 2. The thing we've all been waiting for. For those of you unfamiliar with Geo Wars, let's summarize. In PGR2, there was an unlockable minigame called "Geometry Wars". This game put you in control of a little spaceship, which shot colored shapes. One stick controlled movement, the other controlled your gun. When the Xbox 360 was launched, one of the first LIVE Arcade titles was Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved. This was an updated Geometry Wars, with very pretty graphics, more enemies, and it was awesome. Since then, two titles were released. Geometry Wars Waves, in PGR4, and Geometry Wars Galaxies for the DS and Wii. So where does this leave us with Geometry Wars 2? Here, obviously.

Buku Sudoku

Platform Xbox Live Arcade | Publisher Merscom

Get on a plane, get on a bus, or go to a break room and you are bound to see a sudoku book. Some people are even addicted to this puzzle phenomenon. Why in the world would you want to play it on a TV instead of a book? Buku Sudoku attempts to convince us that we should.

LOST: Via Domus

Platform Xbox 360 | Publisher Ubisoft

LOST: Via Domus is out and caters to the fans of the TV Show. But how fun is it? How well are the characters from the show represented? Find out after the jump!

Let me preface: If you aren't a LOST fan, you shouldn't even be reading this review. This game is not for you. Just walk away slowly. Don't worry, we'll wait. Are they gone? OK, good. I am a LOST fan, and yes, this game makes me giggle like a schoolgirl. Then again, so does the beginning and end of each TV episode. And anytime something awesome happens. And every time Ben says anything. And when we see someone dead, and when we see someone get their comeuppance, and when we see...

So to be fair, this is not for people who want insight into the show. LOST: Via Domus offers no answers, and even poses a few questions. This is to be able to have the same feeling when you watched an episode for the first time, but from the perspective of someone you don't know you can even enter the numbers [engrossing, I know], and visit all the DHARMA stations we've so far seen, save the Looking Glass, and you see pretty much every major thing on the island. So, if you can stomach that, then follow me...

Sins of a Solar Empire

Platform PC | Publisher Ironclad Games

Sins of a Solar Empire is a Galactic Empire Real Time Strategy game for the PC developed by Ironclad Games. The game involves 3 factions, each with a shadowed past. The best way to describe Sins is Supreme Commander in space with some hints of Galactic Civilization 2 mixed in. The game is a hybrid of a massive RTS and 4X gameplay (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit and eXterminate). Games in the past have tried to combine these two genres but have failed.

Does Sins suffer the same fate as those that came before it? Or does it find the perfect balance that the others failed to achieve? Read on to find out!

N+

Platform Xbox Live Arcade | Publisher Metanet Software Inc.

N+, as you may know, is the "sequel" to the flash browser game N. N stars a ninja with an unquenchable thirst for gold, the only thing prolonging his 90-second lifespan. The goal is to use your ninja acrobatics to make it to the end of the level, while collecting gold along the way to increase the timer. N+ is the same concept, but so much more inside. 50 "episodes" (think level playlists) of five levels each make up the single player. There is an addictive co-op mode, XBL or Local, and two different game modes, Race, and Survival also included. A level editor is another new addition, and is a shining example of what an XBL Arcade title should be.
