The Godtacular Bible study gets coverage on Kotaku and Gamerscore Blog

Looks like the concept of a Bible study in a Halo 2 lobby is stirring up a lot of conversation around the gaming community. ChuckieJ‘s Godtacular Bible study is being covered by our friends at Kotaku and Gamerscore Blog. Lots of interesting discussion in the comments there. Thanks guys!

The only problem that I have with these stories being publicized on gaming sites is that it gives the anti-Christian movement a place to criticize those who wish to learn teachings from the Bible for having these study sessions in the lobby of a violent video game.

Check out some of those Kotaku comments and you’ll see what i’m talking about.

Note that there is a difference between not practicing the Christian religion and being Anti-Christian.

It all starts somewhere. Props to the early adopters with this type of innovation in getting 16 people together to discuss a worthy topic. I’m blown away with such forward thinking as to use (in my opinion) the number one gaming platform as the center point of contact for today’s youth.

If you had asked me to participate in a weekly bible study with the promise of some Halo action afterwards when I was a teen, you bet I wouldn’t miss out. By the way, Town Of Power with needlers, (Thanks Foo Mo) was a blast last night.

I really love the ability to get together with you guys on Halo and just fellowship with new friends. Its a great privilege to spend time with you guys. I cant wait for more meeting in the future. One of my friends from school asked me about it but said he only join last night thinking we were playing a game. He’s not a Christin and i believe he is just looking for something to believe in.

    May is love prosper

Glad to see people spreading the good word are getting some recognition. Even if a few people are hating on it, it shows fellow Christians that there is a safe haven in the online gaming community. Keep up the good work!

Hey this cool that what we’re doing is reaching out to other people. it always helps to reach other people. even though some may just pass by it, it will eventually catch their eye or something. Id love to attend a one, are they still on mondays at 6?
