Official Podtacular Xbox 360 Theme

Recently, I was playing around with some ideas and cooked up this nifty official Podtacular Xbox 360 theme background for the whole community to use. It’s designed for widescreen displays at full 1080p resolution, so download and display it proudly in your Dashboard!

UPDATE: I’ve now included a version for older televisions at 480p fullscreen resolution.

Download HD version (1920×1080) | Download SD version (720×480)

To download the image, just right-click on the attached files below and save the file to your computer. There are several ways to get it to your 360, including copying the file to a USB hard drive or iPod/MP3 player, burning it to a CD or even streaming it across your network via Media Center/Connect 360. Once you see it in the Photos section of your 360 Dashboard (in the Media blade), find the image and press X to “Apply as Background” and you’re all set!

Oh, and since I know we have some really good and enthusiastic artists in the Podtacular community, I’d like to see if anyone else has some awesome ideas for 360 themes. We recently had a desktop wallpaper contest, and if there’s enough interest, maybe we could have one for 360 themes! Whaddya say?

So this won’t work on SD?

How in the world do I put this on my 360?

  2. plasma qrenades says:

you save it as a .jpg (i think) then put it on a cd or a jump drive and put into the disk drve or usb port and go to media>pictures>and then you choose the cd or jump drive and get the picture and view it and hit x to apply as background (all from memory, so some of that is probably wrong, but its close)

awesome job man, it looks sick on my 360!

i love how you incorporated the curved lines like in the Halo 3 beta vid we saw

is there a way to have a different picture for each menu in the dashboard, because if there was, you could make on for each screen. Just put the words Media, Games, etc. somewhere on the pic.

    just an idea.

Nice one Krunk. Podtacular officially owns my 360. Is it something with the 360, cause there’s still the trim of the respective Blade on the top and bottom of the background. Ex. The Xbox Live Blade still shows the gold above and under the picture.

  19. Kickimanjaro says:

I want this on my xbox…how?

  20. Reaping Raven says:

Yeah, that is what’s happening with mine too. Anyway to make it a bit bigger because I experimented with a HUGE squirrel picture and the big size automatically formatted so it can fit my 360 backround.

  22. LoneWarrior says:

sqweryl why am i not surprised :D

  23. CapnKrunk says:

Try it again, or just right-click on the attached link and save the file from there.

  24. CapnKrunk says:

This is because the image is designed for widescreen HDTVs only. This was really kind of a test run, so if there’s enough demand, I’ll probably make a version for older TVs too.

  25. Sqweryl says:

Alright. Just wondering krunk :) Stupid old TVs! Lol, I’ve had various squirrel backrounds for a while Lone Warrior :)

  26. Kickimanjaro says:

Now I know how to get it on there! Thanks Capn Krunk! Gona get that on soon!

  27. Spartan015 says:

I don’t know how to do this my self, but I think I remember one of my friends had different pictures for all of them, but he did the whole download differently, he had the 360 connected to the computer and did it from there, rather than using a USB or CD.

  28. MARDER10162 says:

wow this is so awesome besides this beastly picture i can pretty much make my own backrounds with all the pictures on the flash drive thing that i put this on. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!
