So That’s How They Do It…

This week’s Halo Bulletin takes a look at the team behind all the Spartans that were at Halo Fest.  As you may recall, Adam Grumbo was one of the panelist for the community panel and is interviewed by bs angel about the process of making the suits.  It’s a sight to see when they’re walking around.  There’s also a little bit about the new Firefight map we’ll be seeing in the multiplayer pack coming with Anniversary.  And as always, there’s pretty pictures

Halo Creative Director had a Good Run

The Creative Director behind our beloved Halo franchise has decided to leave Halo and 343i.  Ryan Payton talked with Kotaku and said that he wasn’t “creatively excited about the project anymore.”  The story so far has been amazing, and I’m sure we’ll be seeing great content in the future from 343i.

Halo Decade, Round 2

This weekend, we are continuing our Halo Decade “Miniseries”. As you might recall, we did one about two months ago that highlighted a lot of things in the Halo Universe as an introduction to what we all like and love about Halo. As Halo Fest was just a week ago, we will be focusing on the importance the community has played on the franchise. We will be doing this live again via our Ustream channel at 6:00 PM Eastern (3:00 PM Pacific) on Saturday, September 10th. We would love to see you there and answer your questions during the show. We will also be giving away a couple of Cortana Chip and Sword codes for your avatar during the live show.

Put a Bullet-in that Title Update

If you weren’t at Halo Fest this weekend, no need to worry.  bs angel has you covered in this week’s Bulletin.  She has posted quite a collection of pictures that I think pretty much captures what was there. Also, if you’re looking for any more specifics on the upcoming Halo: Reach title update, there are some detailed descriptions of what actually is changing in the post.  Everything you want to know about bloom reduction, armor lock nerfing and shield bleed-through can be found there.

Halo 4 Concept Trailer

This trailer was shown at the Halo 4 Panel on Sunday morning at Halo Fest. While it doesn’t give too much insight into what we’re going to see in the campaign graphically, it does lead to some speculation on what we might see in the game. Take a watch: we’ll be talking about it soon on the show.

Halo Title Update Announced

This is the first time I’ve been able to sit down since getting to Halo Fest to actually update the site.  I’m actually currently watching the Waypoint Update panel while typing this up so I’m constantly engaged in Halo Fest.  One piece of news that I think is important to everyone is the Title Update for Halo: Reach.  Details can be found in the Waypoint forums.  Needless to say, I’m very happy about the stuff they’ve fixed with Armor Lock and it makes a lot more sense.  Check it out and if you’re at Halo Fest, come say hi.

Battle Canyon Flythrough

Another new Halo: Reach multuplayer map was unvield this week at GamesCon and this one has been redone a few times. You might remember it as battle creek or one of the maps Podtacular played Bungie in long ago in that Humpday challenge when it was known as Beaver Creek, but in Reach the old time favorite will bear the name Battle Canyon (has a nice ring to it I think.) IGN has the scoop, again, giving us another exciting ‘flythrough‘ of the new map.

What suprises me is that there are actually a lot of things that changed in this remake. The team added a lift to the top of both bases and changed where the teleporters are placed. Thanks to forge those of you who frown upon these changes can put the map back to it’s original battle creek goodness, and the 343 guys will have an ‘anniversary’ edition of the map that we’ll see in match making that’s more like the one we know and love. Hopefully we’ll be getting more of these flythroughs at Halo Fest, and oh yeah Dusty will be there too.

New Reach Maps Playable at GamesCon

Looks like the guys over at 343 industries are getting a little sneaky on us. Instead of confirming what they will be adding and subtracting in the upcoming Title Update to Halo: Reach they’ve been using a playable version of it at GamesCon. The following video seems like it is showcasing two of the new (and awesome) maps that will be coming to Reach Multiplayer when Halo: CE Anniversary this November 15, but if you look closely you’ll be a healthy bit of information (also equally awesome).

In this video, you will first notice that there is in fact no bloom being used when players are using the DMR. Also, something BrentGamer’s been asking for since day one of Reach, is health ‘bleedthrough’ while meleeing. AKA when you melee your opponent it wont just take out their shields all of the time.  There are also other nice pieces of new information to be found but do not take my word for it, get to watching!
