Around The Ring Episode 19 – Starcraft II

Well a little over a decade later, this show has finally come out! Also Starcraft II showed up. Sorry for the horrible delay, but as usual blame Dust Storm. However the wait was worth it, as we have a much nicer setup now! The show has it’s own feed, and with it’s own page possibly coming soon. This show took two takes, as the first take failed…really really hard. I still was able to salvage some funny bloopers from it, so it wasn’t a total waste. Note: Porta-potty != TARDIS. There’s a little wind noise, and some noise with me fiddling with my headset at certain points, but it’s not too bad. I cleaned the worst of it out. Other than that it’s up to the usual audio standard. I also officially introduce the new theme song! Credits can be found in the comments tag of the .mp3 file, and if it happens, the show page. Hello again listeners! Yet another late episode, this time it’s been held up by issues with the feed change, and my own life getting busy. Stuff is still being pulled together, so bear with us. This one is about the free Valve game Alien Swarm, available exclusively on Steam. It’s a lot of fun, and seeing as it comes with a full SDK you should be expecting a lot of fun custom content. In addition in talking about the game, we also talk about the Half Life 2: Episode 3 content found in the game files.
We got a little off topic on this show…I’ll try to cut down on that, funny as it is. No show-notes again, actually we didn’t use any…I’m surprised it went as well as it did. It’s not like we had to record and patch in an entire section that we forgot. I have no idea how, but this show clocked in at …I’ll try to keep future shows on track so they don’t end up as long.
Around The Ring Episode 17 – Team Fortress 2 Engineer Update

It’s time for another show! Once again held up in delivery because SOMEBODY never replies to their IMs. Nobody submitted…so it’s your fault we ran out of stuff to talk about. This one is about the update that the Engineer class in Team Fortress 2 received. This show took two takes, but in total with the mishap only took three hours to record. The funnier bits from the failed first take come in at the very start, so you’ll hear those before the actual show starts. Have fun with that intro. Guests on the show include Alchanii, who you’ll remember from the last show we did, and our very own Painkilla who now hosts the Gamer1 podcast. In this episode, we discuss the engineer update, Funnyboy drinks some green tea, and Painkilla levels up in World of Warcraft. It clocks in at 84:47, so you’ll have plenty of fun. 6 minutes of bloopers. No show-notes this week, there’s really nothing much in them. Around The Ring Episode 16 – Left 4 Dead 2: The Passing DLC

Yay! I’m back! This week the show is all about The Passing, the free (har har har) DLC that came out for Left 4 Dead 2. It’s out a little late because Dust Storm was on a road trip home, and he’s the one who uploads stuff apparently. Joining me this week we have Knuckles Dawson from Rooster Teeth’s Achievement Hunter site, Alchanii who is a friend of Knuckles Dawson, and returning is Lono from Sarcastic Gamer (although only for the first 20 minutes). Not joining me this week is Funnyboy who decided to vanish, losing all of his intern points in the process. This episode was probably the funnest one I’ve done so far, and it’s you’re definitely going to like it. Plenty of fun in the bloopers as well.
Around The Ring Episode 14 – Left 4 Dead 2: Dead Centre Campaign Show

Well, this episode finally came out, and for once it’s not entirely Dust Storm’s fault. He got upset when he heard a few swear words I missed in editing, then had to spend a few days in the closet before asking me to fix it. Exams and other things happened which prevented recording, and then more things slowed the editing. But never mind that, it’s out now! Joining me on the show is my old co-host Dust Storm, Funnyboy from the community, and your all time favourite CrazyCommie. This episode we talk about the Left 4 Dead 2 campaign Dead Centre, Dust Storm kicks up a cuss storm, and CrazyCommie drops out half way through. The episode clocks in at just under two hours, so there’s lots of fun stuff to listen to. I couldn’t find a song long enough to cover the bloopers, or any good loops. So you just have 16 minutes of straight up silliness.

Around The Ring Episode 13 – Left 4 Dead 2 Demo Impressions

Hi there everyone! I’m back! Yay! This week we’re coming to you with our impressions and your opinions of the Left 4 Dead 2 demo…from inside the demo! Yeah…don’t think I’ll be doing that again. Joining me this week once again is TheCrazyCommie, and a newcomer in the form of Funnyboy from the community! It was an interesting episode.
The full game comes out next Tuesday, so we’re all waiting for it. I’ll start doing episodes on the level sets a week or so after the game comes out. The bloopers are nice and fun to listen to, and make sure you listen till the end for a fun invite to participate in the show!

Podtacular 201: Around The Ring: Computers Vs. Consoles

Around The Ring is back! Finally! Once again we’re late on the post, and once again it’s all Dust Storms’ fault. This week we continue the streak of terrible audio with the loss of my headset, and debate the pros and cons of Computers and Consoles as gaming platforms. Guess what the deciding factor was? Dropping in to guest host from Respawn Radio is Lono (pronounced “lawno”), Facehead from the Podtacular community, and everyone’s returning favorite: TheCrazyCommie! It was quite an episode, and made for a good start. As well you get the hear the new theme which…uh…well…hopefully you’ll like it more than I did!

Podtacular 185: Around The Ring: Left 4 Dead – Death Toll Campaign/Versus

Hey guys! I’m BACK! This week with a fun filled Around The Ring all about the Left 4 Dead level set Death Toll. It has a boat! Joining us are two buddies that I met a month ago playing the game, Maddie (a girl), and Buzz Killing Tin (an Australian). We set a new record for submissions, and bleeping in a single episode >.>, seriously this one was pretty crazy, but fun. It’s taken a bit longer to come out because of the tedious editing I had to do (select, split, copy, paste, select, generate tone, zoom in). That and other things my weekend were filled with. The site art is different because it was apparently too cute for the podcast, but meh. I love my weird stuffy! The winner of the longest submission is El Smacko, who actually isn’t from here. El Smacko hails from the TSL forums. We had to paraphrase parts of it, but read the shownotes, it’s full of good stuff. Enjoy the show!

Podtacular 182: Around The Ring: Left 4 Dead – No Mercy

Hello Podtacular! This weeks episode is a bit late, but I assure you it’s all Dust Storm’s fault. SOMEONE didn’t pay the bill –\_0.o_/–. This week we kick off our Left 4 Dead level series with No Mercy. Joining us is TheCrazyCommie, a friend of mine. In this episode, Dust Storm forgets to take his meds and turns into a bird, TheCrazyCommie sets off a rape alarm, and I am the serious person for a change. We set a record for submissions, and have some of the best bloopers ever! Over 14 minutes of them! Some of them I had to cut because they were past PG13. Thanks to Logan Payne for the background loop, and EliteSpartan for the album art.

Podtacular 179: Around The Ring – DRM Debate

Hello Podtacular! This is the first of the debate/discussion series that I hope to be able to continue once every few months or so. This one focuses on DRM, or Digital Rights Management. It’s a global issue. It affects all forms of digital media. All video games, music, videos. everything. It’s a big issue. Thanks to everyone who submitted, all of the submissions were very well put…except for one with terrible grammar that I had trouble following. You know who you are.
