Defiant Give-away
We’ve managed to get a batch of Defiant Map Pack codes to give-away on Monday when the maps get released. We have a few ways you can get your hands on one, and you will want your hands on this map pack:
- Follow Podtacular on Twitter for a chance to answer trivia questions related to Podtacular and Halo. Announcements when you can win codes will be announced there.
- Between now and Monday at Noon Eastern, we will take submissions of Score Attack games in Gruntpocalypse and Mythic Attack. For each of those two gametypes, we will give away a code to the high scorers of each. Submit a link to the game on B.Net to duststorm@podtacular.com with the Subject: Defiant Giveaway: <gametype>. One entry per gamertag. Multiple entries will void submission.

Community Opinions
As some of you have already heard from our latest episode, we will be doing our own little “Best of 2010″ show in an upcoming episode. We are recording our next three shows on Friday, which includes some updates about the site and community, random frags from the mailbag and a Black Ops show. We want to see what your picks are for 2010: what was the best, worst, weird, etc. Again, we are recording on Friday, January 7th, so if you want your opinions heard, send them in by that day.

Game Night on Christmas Eve
We want to have a game night on Christmas Eve with you guys to start kicking off what hopefully will be the renewal of community play dates. We’ll be doing an assortment of customs and a little matchmaking mixed in there for about a few hours starting from around 8:00PM to Midnight Eastern Time. If you have any customs you want to play, be sure to bring them or send them to POD Dust Storm on XBL. Spread the word.

Looking for Writers
The Podtacular staff aren’t only crazy about everything Halo, but we are also college students working to our careers. It takes a good amount of time and effort to stay up on current events in the Halo and Xbox communities, and it takes even more to produce a podcast and manage a community. A lot of time has been pulled away from Podtacular recently because of the approaching end of the school semester. As a result of all of these factors, we aren’t able to keep you up to date with the latest and greatest all the time. This is where you come in.

HMV Hell: Reach
Remember a long time ago, there was a clan called Hollywood Halo that made some excellent machinima? Well, take a look at their latest project: HMV Hell: Reach. Now the question is, does this mark the return of Hollywood Halo in Halo: Reach?
Noble 6 Avatar Helmet Give Away
We have received a Noble 6 Avatar Helmet code to give away to you guys. If you haven’t gotten one yet, here’s your chance. Here’s the challenge: play the campaign level “Lone Wolf” (the one after the credits) on heroic with no skulls on. The person that can last the longest will win the code. To enter, play the level and upload the film of your attempt to your fileshare. Then send a link to it along with your gamertag to duststorm@podtacular.com with “Noble 6 Avatar Challenge” in the subject line. The person with the longest time (excluding cut-scenes) will win. Only one entry per person is allowed. Anyone who submits multiple entries will be disqualified. Good luck.

Welcome to Noble
Many, if not all of you stood in lines for two, three, four hours or more at your local games retailer waiting for the game of the year, Halo: Reach. You have received critical intelligence about the human-covenant war and it’s your time to fight for humanity. For those who have received the limited edition, you will find some classified intel that will be vital to understanding the minds behind the Spartan Program. For those veterans who have received the legendary edition, your contributions to the war effort have gifted you the coveted Noble Statue. It is a monument to those who were lost.
You may be wondering where Podtacular falls into this. For those of you who are just finding us, welcome to our community. We hope that you find a welcoming and friendly environment here and on the battlefield. We are focused around our podcast that focuses on the Halo Universe: everything from campaign run-throughs, multiplayer tips, and user created content. For those who are familiar with us, expect some changes all around to Podtacular:
XBL Price Changing as of November 1st
Unfortunately Major Nelson has just announced a new pricing scheme for Xbox Live. You can see the new priceing below. As bad as this is, I’m going to be super optimistic and suggest that this may allow massive improvements to XBL. What those could be I can’t say but hopefully they’ll bring us better features than twitter and facebook.
New Podcast Feeds
I have been reworking some of the podcast feeds since we have three separate podcasts with a few more to come. The Podtacular feed has been offline for a while during this change. iTunes has been updated to point to the correct feed and both new episodes are now up on iTunes. For anyone who subscribes manually, the new feed address for Podtacular is http://feeds.feedburner.com/podtacular/podtacular. Gamer 1 has it’s feed on iTunes as well and can be found at http://feeds.feedburner.com/podtacular/gamer1. Around the Ring will be available later this week. Thanks for the patience.
