Finally we have the means to put together Halo 3 clans. You’ve got questions? We’ve got answers.

But there are no clans in Halo 3!

Very wise, young grasshopper. However, with the dash update, there’s a spiffy new friends of friends feature. A lot of people said eureka when they realized you can create a silver account and use that as a clan of sorts, which is just what we’re doing! By getting added as a friend of one of the Podtacular clans, you can view the clan’s friends and blammo, you’re in a clan!

How do I get in?

Let’s cut right to the chase for the members of existing Podtacular Halo 2 clans and regular forum-goers. You guys can just send a friends request to your respective clan and you’re good to go. If you’re not a forum regular and existing clan member, check out the clan page to review the system and request an invite. You’ll need to tell us a little about yourself and agree to a few simple rules, then we’ll send you a friend request!

That’s right!!! The Podtacular All Stars are back on active duty and they have faced their first opponent this week. Yesterday, we played the fine Gents and Gal from Clantacular.com, an amazing tournament site led by our fellow community neighbor DemonCorpse.

We played a series of 5 games. Well, initially wanted to play a best of 5 but we had such a great time that even after the third game we just kept playing and time went by tooooo faaaassst! Anyway, thanks to Clantacular for showing up and being such great sports and congrats to the all stars. Let this be the first of many victories.

After being delayed twice and then changing the time enough times to give a calendar a headache, Rec E finally took on the boys over at the GCN forums in a five game series. Podtacular Recreation E started off with a strong showing with a full roster of eight players in the lobby while Gamercast Network had four. Eventually they got six in but couldn’t get the eight they promised so two latecomers had to leave our party. Duff 3c, the GCN team leader talked a big game but unfortunately couldn’t make it since he had to attend the Kane and Lynch community event. He handed over team leader to herroan09, a level 41 who talked an even bigger (but friendly) game on the boards and got the hype up.

Well, it looks like it’s time to rekindle a friendly rivalry and go head to head with none other than Bungie themselves for another Humpday Challenge!

If you recall (and here’s a link if you don’t), Podtacular flew the glorious flag of victory after beating Bungie back in June 2006. It was a hard and well-fought battle, but now we’re back to do it again in Halo 3! Wish those members of the Podtacular community that will be playing tonight luck!

UPDATE: Well, we can say we started off great, but they got the better of us and things eventually slid downhill as Bungie beat us 2 games to 1. What can we say, it was fair and square (except for one Mr. Luke Smith putting the kick-boot to one of our players during the second game) and above all, it was fun and we definitely look forward to rematch sometime in the future. The Podtacular All-Stars are back in action! This time they took on the illustrious Praetoria Guard, a long-running and famous Halo 2 clan with a rich heritage. These guys put up a great fight, and it looks like it was an exciting set of games! Read a full review of the matches written by MaesterGXL in the forums. A certain (now former) staff member recently flipped out, deleting the rec section in the forum and making everyone overlord in Rec B. Believe it or not, this is good news. Our community reacted as a team to recognize this and fight it, and just a day later we are making a variety of positive changes in our clan system and forums to ensure we have solid leadership and don’t leave ourselves vulnerable to bipolar emos in the future. That’s right guys… The All Stars are back on their feet. After their loss to Halo Junk, they have picked the goove back up by beating the Lamb Clan on this great series of matches.

Thanks a lot to all the all stars that showed up and also thanks Lamb Clan for the oportunity to play you guys and have fun. We had a great time and we hope to see you guys again on a near future.

Also the all stars also started their journey at Clantacular by beating the hosting team on friday night. So if you’re an all stars and you haven’t yet signed up at clantacular.com go ahead and do so.

Some dork on staff in Rec E just booted everyone. TerminatorLlama, the overlord, just put everyone as peon in response, so it won’t happen again. If you were in that clan and want back in, it’s easy as pie. Just post your gamertag in the request a clan invite page and write that you were in Rec E. We’ll get you another invite ASAP.

Yes, the undefeated Podtacular All-Stars have in fact been defeated by the guys at halo2.junk.ws, the halo 2 stats site. Looks like it was really close! It went win, loss, win, tie, loss, loss. So we were one kill away from winning the challenge. Good game, and we’re looking forward to the rematch! MaesterGXL has a detailed writeup of the match in the forums.

The All-Stars continue their undefeated streak of friendly challenge matches with their latest victory against the Winged Warriors. Looks like it was pretty much a shutout according to MaesterGXL‘s excellent review. Thanks guys for a great match!
